Did you perhaps have it bound to an alternate key instead of the default CTRL?
If so, please review the 11.2 release notes, all menu options and keybinds have been reset.
Unless your install went weird, toggle crouch is fine, I use it all the time.
Just to tease back, I love toggle crouch. I can do anything in any game as well as anyone who wants to keep his finger on the crouch button all the time. But I have longer reach with the hand with toggle crouch. I'd never go back unless I have to. Games should have both options so that those used to one method over another have the option, but seriously, toggle crouch saves on fingers and increases reach when waiting an enemy out.
You don't have to worry, you can customize it, you just have to do it again because the patch reset things (which is said in the last sentence of the patch notes page).
I use Backspace for jump. (I have a split space bar key, but its getting old -- was a great keyboard though, has two sets of cursor keys for each hand plus the numpad--bummer it's getting worn out). I use TAB for inventory. (Although TAB is losing its functionality occasionally in the Crafting menu, which is an issue, but I can't predict it). I use B for drop (means bury to me, how I remember). That way I have my inventory on the left hand. Q is too close to w, a, e, and 1, I'm not going to always see I dropped something, so I want it to be on a stretch key.
Traditionally dropping items in MMOs and in some games such as these, do not have a clear dropping animation, they also don't give you a warning boop. So you lose items, that's a no-no.
Likewise, if you have a game with grenades, be careful if the G is default and if F is a major action or find key, or occasionally you will blow yourself up. Likewise if Q is a bandage key, you will occasionally waste bandages, make it a traditional H or use T, for example, so that you don't waste them (this game doesn't have that).
Customizing the keys to your rationale is a big plus. Follow a method that helps you.
I hope I did not insult anyone by my posts. I meant to be helpful. I am a bit sardonic at times, but I'm also supportive. Good luck.
Sorry Pimip and all.
