I do agree with OP, bait/control options for both zombies and animals need to be a thing.
As for deer or boar bait. Cornmeal would be pretty good for that. Possibly craft a bucket of water with some corn seeds and then, dispense it in an area to increase the chance of a spawn in that area over the next 1-2 days.
IE: i can hear the rabbit, just can't locate it.
"Your rabbit is already dead."
(Cheesy misquote from "the Matrix", but it is late and I could not resist.)
ROFL
Yes, I have also seen them chase after pigs and punch both pigs and deer to death :) While this may sound like a good way of saving a bolt or two, be warned that the zombies will also keep punching the carcass and it will decay rapidly.
Nah, as I said I want bait for both. I actually want the hunting in this game to be harder - I want it to take skill. Right now, I can outrun a rabbit and hit it with an axe.
I don't want it like that. :D
I'd love to have to worry about our scent, maybe have a wind mechanic, love to have bait - and hunting that rewards some patience. Where you'd have to quietly keep an area clean of zombies with silent weapons like your bow - so that the animals aren't too scared to go in the area.
