Where is the plant fibres?

After one of the previous updates i find it hard to find any of the plants that give plant fibres, is there any other way to get some with cotton, the red plants or the yellow plants? Not finding any holds me back from the basic starting tool, the axe, which in turn stops me from getting wood (lol), which yada yada yada leads to me not having wood for a house etc..

You make the fibers from the grass. Whack some grass with your melee of choice, pick it up, put it in the center of your crafting area and click create. You will then have plant fibers. (You can also use yucca for fibers.)

put grass into middle slot of crafting grid.

Hit grass, pickup. Place in crafting center box, turn into plant fiber. Grass grows (almost) everywhere.
