Suggestion: Vending Rentals - Available everywhere
The rental vending machines have a kind of hit and miss discovery, especially when you play on a multiplayer server (unsure why a single player would use them) ...ahem as i was saying.

The rented machine needs to be available across the network of traders, so if i rent one at Joel's ... it should be available at every other trader on the same server... so it wouldn't matter which trader i use, it's available across the networks.

2500 for 30 days is kind of steep if nobody ever finds it, but being available at every trader makes it a lot more beneficial.

Love this? Show some love, hit reply and tell em why ! :steamhappy:
Don't love this? That's ok too. :steammocking:

While I don't play multiplayer myself I do agree that the items should appear in all trader vending machines. Though if you have a large amount of people on one server I can see why something like this would not be a good idea.
How exactly would the UI work? one single vending machine with a menu inside to choose which players particular vending machine? There are only 3 vending machines at a trader... would a single player end up owning 1 of the 3 at EVERY trader? Then only three players could own vending machines.

Basically you're asking for an auction house, like in an mmo.

Great idea, need a place to sell all the magic potions, and the rusty swords the orcs drop.

So, if you rent a machine and it's available at all the traders, that means 3 people could have vending machines. Everyone else would be out of luck. If they redesigned the UI so you could access different peoples stock, maybe.

No, you can buy one and place it at your base.

The vending machines sell anything you put in them for a profit after ## of days. To a NPC that doesnt exist.

But they do actually work that way. You dont need Multiplayer for it to work.

I still think they are pointless across the board.

Yes, the rental ones will work even in SP selling to invisible survivors. I've tried a few times and never had enough sales to cover the rental fee though.

The last time I played with Trader Vending machines was around A18 or A19, they were a bit buggy. At the time I'd just fill them with fully-modded Rank 5 stuff (typically FIreman Helmet). The Trader would only buy 3 of those, but you could place lots in the machine. I recall making about $20k every few (3?) days, but at the time I wanted the XP from selling to a Trader more than raw dukes (these were only useful as Brass in the Forge). The half dozen people I've played with have never described Vending Machines (Trader or Player) as anything other than a decoration.
