Good to know -- you don't actually need to be on that roof to waken the Zs, just being at that elevation on that POI's grounds will bring them directly to you.
Well yeah but you need to clear that roof in order to complete trader's quest (clear area t5 or infestation t6). All im saying that just makes no sense how many of them there.
Also that t5 army camp with basement area (Army outpost #7 i believe it is) suffers from that issue too - the cafeteria floor contains too much zombies to deal with them efficiently (sinse it's kinda impossible to do so on 20 fps :] )
There are POIs that are very simple and then there are those, were you get constantly spawning Zs in your back and get wrecked if you don't pay attention.
IMO I think they took on a very ambitious task when they started this game. I think they envisioned having a fully-destructible open-world filled with hundreds of zombies on the street. But then they quickly realized that it wasn't possible to do because of certain limitations (Unity, Linux, Windows, etc) since it's too hard to balance performance.
Now we're seeing them come down to earth and they have to either; A) Put more zombies in POI's to make it more challenging and make the payoff worth it with more loot (which causes more performance issues), but also making roaming zombies less scarce in the wild. Or B) Make roaming zombies more frequent in the wild and make POIs too easy.
It's a tough situation to be in as a developer and I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make these decisions.
Yep Army Post 7 was also insane in terms of amount of zombies. It was the one that ended my HC run. I should have known better when i descended and my fps dropped that i was in for a treat.
I expected the usual ambush but instead got a torrent of zombies so dense they made a zombie ladder up to the shaft and chased me up on the ladder and knocked me back to into the mosh pit of death burrying me under all the zombies.
Tbh with 1.2v update situation with performance got a lot better and where i previously experienced massive fps drops in some POI's (Vanity Tower, Two Bit Tower) - now is almost fine (prob my pc issues at this point), but some of existing POI's, as said earlier, still got performance issues althought avrg fps got seriously increased.
Agreed on this statement, but looking back on other game using voxel system which also was made on latest unity version (Sons of The forest it is) gets my head spining of how Endnight managed to get their game's graphics very beatiful and at fair performance
Yeah, that got me too once i decided to enter this POI on a 15lvl character xD
Hee, Hee, Hee...
"5070=4090" - HAHAHA
....I might try a 5080ti if it has more than 16vram tho. Or wait for 60xx. Or better, not care about big dev AAA gaming.
...DLSS4 improvements might be worth something tho. May have even less artificating/blur issues etc.
