"Groover high" suffering
I get that it's a tier 5 location and there should be more zombies than other POI's. but 100 of them on a single roof just makes no sense and makes your pc die of cringe

And I am really curious now, is it just me or more than 15-20 enemies on a single chunk completely ruins performance

BTW there is world setting called 'blood moon enemies count' which totally makes sense since lots of enemies should be challenging in terms of dealing with them. not in terms of poor performance suffering.

I wanted to use the parking lot of that POI as a quick durable floor for my quick day 7 horde base. As I was building a simple tower a moment of lag made me think the Wandering Horde was nearby, but instead it was the Rooftop Zs imitating a clown car (pouring out seemingly without end) falling down nearby. I nope'd the heck out of that situation.

Good to know -- you don't actually need to be on that roof to waken the Zs, just being at that elevation on that POI's grounds will bring them directly to you.

Well yeah but you need to clear that roof in order to complete trader's quest (clear area t5 or infestation t6). All im saying that just makes no sense how many of them there.
Also that t5 army camp with basement area (Army outpost #7 i believe it is) suffers from that issue too - the cafeteria floor contains too much zombies to deal with them efficiently (sinse it's kinda impossible to do so on 20 fps :] )

Performance and Balance are still an issue! Though even about getting a beafier maschine, but even on good maschines it is kind of bad ...
There are POIs that are very simple and then there are those, were you get constantly spawning Zs in your back and get wrecked if you don't pay attention.

This game always had trouble with many zombies. Kind of strange since its kind of a big part of the game. So you would think they tried to address that problem faster, like making each zombie require less resources.
I can’t believe your Pc is dying of cringe, I thought everyone now was running the Alpha Omega 9000. Im guessing your running the boomer 100 series?

Meanwhile, some (myself included) say there isn't enough zombies.

IMO I think they took on a very ambitious task when they started this game. I think they envisioned having a fully-destructible open-world filled with hundreds of zombies on the street. But then they quickly realized that it wasn't possible to do because of certain limitations (Unity, Linux, Windows, etc) since it's too hard to balance performance.

Now we're seeing them come down to earth and they have to either; A) Put more zombies in POI's to make it more challenging and make the payoff worth it with more loot (which causes more performance issues), but also making roaming zombies less scarce in the wild. Or B) Make roaming zombies more frequent in the wild and make POIs too easy.

It's a tough situation to be in as a developer and I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make these decisions.

Yep Army Post 7 was also insane in terms of amount of zombies. It was the one that ended my HC run. I should have known better when i descended and my fps dropped that i was in for a treat.

I expected the usual ambush but instead got a torrent of zombies so dense they made a zombie ladder up to the shaft and chased me up on the ladder and knocked me back to into the mosh pit of death burrying me under all the zombies.

Tbh with 1.2v update situation with performance got a lot better and where i previously experienced massive fps drops in some POI's (Vanity Tower, Two Bit Tower) - now is almost fine (prob my pc issues at this point), but some of existing POI's, as said earlier, still got performance issues althought avrg fps got seriously increased.

Agreed on this statement, but looking back on other game using voxel system which also was made on latest unity version (Sons of The forest it is) gets my head spining of how Endnight managed to get their game's graphics very beatiful and at fair performance

Yeah, that got me too once i decided to enter this POI on a 15lvl character xD
Wah, Wah, Wah: My 5090 Won't Run at 250 FPS in a T6 Infested POI
FIRST!!!

Hee, Hee, Hee...
:steamhappy:
Can't wait to whack zombies with 200+ SUPER AI generated fake frames.

"5070=4090" - HAHAHA
....I might try a 5080ti if it has more than 16vram tho. Or wait for 60xx. Or better, not care about big dev AAA gaming.
...DLSS4 improvements might be worth something tho. May have even less artificating/blur issues etc.
