Suggestion: Auto Walk/Run
i go into games with my friends and it keeps spawning me 1.5km away from them.

i'd love to have a single button that i can push that makes my character automatically walk forward.

if you have a fancy keyboard you can macro a button to auto run for you

Alas i do not.
and it's a common enough feature in other games i would prefer it just be added to this game, as opposed to having to find a workaround.

If your friend is that far away and you don't want to interact with any POIs or Zs in between, maybe just ask them to teleport you to them (assuming they're the host). I don't recall what the admin command is, but it shouldn't be too hard to look up and type in. It would save you quite a bit of time, especially if you're after Auto Run so you could go afk for a few minutes because you'd definitely come back to a character at the bottom of some ravine with a broken leg.

That would be like three whole lines if code. Probably gunna be another 5-10 years for that.
People have been requesting this feature since 2014. I'm starting to think we may not get it.

Some of that spare ammo getting looted would make a good key weight, don't you think?

You could just have an option on game generation whether people spawn int he same town or not. Personally I like starting by myself then grouping up later.

Well in the good old days, we put something heavy on a key to keep it down ...

But seriously this game is not the kind of game which needs this feature!

Fallout 4 had auto-run in 2014.
I also think console commands are necessary for this, by default the game is designed to give people breathing room if they are on a server with those who they may not play cooperatively with.

For now if you want to start with other people and stick with them as a group you either use console commands to skip that annoying start

Or you actually use this as a way to make the early game more difficult and draw it out longer...depending on if youre a player who likes the early game or wants to balance out the fact that they are going to be grouped together.

I think in the future there probably should be some sort of setting for a server or world signifying that its coop between a small group of people so the game will automatically put everyone on the same team and spawn them close together.

If you had Auto-Run, you just KNOW people would Fall off the Edge of the World...
And, THEN Complain about it here...

Nobody wants that, now, do they...
I thought auto-run was already in the game, v1.2 or something, since I just tap shift and it toggles it. Maybe its part of a mod i am using? -shrug-

That is a sprint toggle but you should still have to hold down a key to move. I think the OP is asking for a toggle for just moving forward until you stop it.
