I used to love this until zombies had the ability to dig down. this nowhere is safe attitude is not good for people who play for days / weeks with the chance of having all they have collected destroyed by zombies. I miss my underground bases very much.
I see people are complaining about streamer weekends still... its a publicity stunt and a way for the anti fun pimps to do free advertising. Always has been.
As for them listening to the community, not going to happen. I will never forget the words 'we dont want people manipulating our game'. Wouldnt be much of a one without a community would it?
Oh one last thing, How many zombie apocolyptic games have you ever seen where you cant collect water in any kind of container? You can find it, but cant collect it ( and i dont mean using the dew collectors either). Never in all my years have I ever seen such a hate filled community for a game like this one.
How I miss Apha 16.4

If you mean transporting water, there’s a bucket for that
Zombies originally dug down. The ability was just disabled for several builds until the AI mechanics were fixed.
I been playing since alpha 9. I never saw zombies dig down.
And no i mean collecting water to drink in cans like we used to.

They couldn't dig directly straight down if the land was totally flat, only if terrain was really bumpy or they had a hill/cliff in front of them, they could then dig into the side and down in a messy kind of way, but their digging now is 1000% times more worse.

You could dig under a road 3 blocks down, jump in it, place 1 dirt block above you and they would never dig down.

Mods? I mean, 30 seconds to find them and another 15 seconds to unzip them into the mods sub-folder.

As for digging-down zombies - I've had underground bases at subway stations. No issues in Insane difficulty. In fact, it gets quite boring because nothing happens. Occasionally, I hear the zombie above breaking stuff, but that's about it.

As for listening to the community - who should they listen? You and people like you that complain about things that can be modded in, or people like me who really don't care about these updates?
Do not know why anybody would wanna watch some random streamer play an update that is mostly visual. That is something I want to experience for the first time myself.

I don't mind the water changes. Collecting from rivers made the early game way to easy. Don't even build dew collectors most of the time. lol

Zombies digging down is 100% BS though. If people wanna play safe and build underground, let them. Weird to prevent a play style in a "SANDBOX" game.

Digging down was added in A18 iirc.

Until that point underground bases were impregnable. Which was ridiculous.

If you want easy mode, just turn off ALL the zombies.

And if you want A16, just go into the Steam Beta settings and install it. You can go back to A9 I believe.

I played almost 6K hours from A14. Zombies did not start digging until A18. iirc.

Then why are you here complaining about some random persons opinion about something you don't care about?

There is a mod to stop zombie digging, and several involving bringing water collection back, even mods to stop the exploding zombies from totaling your base, i think i have even seen some that bring back the ever unrealistic underground farming. Many hate mods, but in truth mods are the way the community turns 7 days from an ok game to a good/great one.

Some people like building without worry and killing zombies. Its a SANDBOX game. Forcing a play style or Telling somebody how they should play in a sandbox is hypocritical.
You probably know already, but you can still play alpha 16.4 easily, by right clicking the game in steam and on the beta tab, Ive been playing alpha 12.5 myself for the last month.

Just remember the launcher doesnt work for the older versions, you have to go where the game is installed in steam and click the 7daystodie.exe, not the launcher one, you can also make a desktop shortcut for the 7daystodie.exe for ease and also install multiple versions of the game in steam and still play the current version, just rename the folders they are installed in, for each alpha version (apart from the current version), I change the folder name to the alpha number.

Game was boring when zed couldn't dig. At least for me and my friends.

It's easy to say it's a sandbox so anyone should play as they want, but what if I want them to dig and they remove it ? It's the same issue, they would force that on my play style.

The only realistic solution are mods for this kind of need. And it's a lot easier to mod something out than to try to add something the AI can't do. So TFP did the right thing, and ppl can mod it out if they don't like it.

That's my opinion.
Yeah god bless, I do. Trouble is I find it very difficult to play a dead version of any game.
Maybe one day, I might try to go back to A16.... maybe

I get that, but honestly the current game servers are dead anyway, it's not like it used to be with pages and pages of full servers, pretty much just a single player game now unless you have friends to play with, then just pick your version.
