And no i mean collecting water to drink in cans like we used to.
They couldn't dig directly straight down if the land was totally flat, only if terrain was really bumpy or they had a hill/cliff in front of them, they could then dig into the side and down in a messy kind of way, but their digging now is 1000% times more worse.
You could dig under a road 3 blocks down, jump in it, place 1 dirt block above you and they would never dig down.
Mods? I mean, 30 seconds to find them and another 15 seconds to unzip them into the mods sub-folder.
As for digging-down zombies - I've had underground bases at subway stations. No issues in Insane difficulty. In fact, it gets quite boring because nothing happens. Occasionally, I hear the zombie above breaking stuff, but that's about it.
As for listening to the community - who should they listen? You and people like you that complain about things that can be modded in, or people like me who really don't care about these updates?
I don't mind the water changes. Collecting from rivers made the early game way to easy. Don't even build dew collectors most of the time. lol
Zombies digging down is 100% BS though. If people wanna play safe and build underground, let them. Weird to prevent a play style in a "SANDBOX" game.
Until that point underground bases were impregnable. Which was ridiculous.
If you want easy mode, just turn off ALL the zombies.
And if you want A16, just go into the Steam Beta settings and install it. You can go back to A9 I believe.
Then why are you here complaining about some random persons opinion about something you don't care about?
Some people like building without worry and killing zombies. Its a SANDBOX game. Forcing a play style or Telling somebody how they should play in a sandbox is hypocritical.
Just remember the launcher doesnt work for the older versions, you have to go where the game is installed in steam and click the 7daystodie.exe, not the launcher one, you can also make a desktop shortcut for the 7daystodie.exe for ease and also install multiple versions of the game in steam and still play the current version, just rename the folders they are installed in, for each alpha version (apart from the current version), I change the folder name to the alpha number.
It's easy to say it's a sandbox so anyone should play as they want, but what if I want them to dig and they remove it ? It's the same issue, they would force that on my play style.
The only realistic solution are mods for this kind of need. And it's a lot easier to mod something out than to try to add something the AI can't do. So TFP did the right thing, and ppl can mod it out if they don't like it.
That's my opinion.
Maybe one day, I might try to go back to A16.... maybe
I get that, but honestly the current game servers are dead anyway, it's not like it used to be with pages and pages of full servers, pretty much just a single player game now unless you have friends to play with, then just pick your version.
