They are behind schedule on the updates though. The 2.0 update that is coming soon was supposed to be finalized at Christmas time which means that the 3.0 update most likely won’t be ready until the end of the year.
"Dynamic Severe Storms force players to take or build shelters"
Agreed. I'm very interested in any dynamic event for the game especially when it's related to survival.
lmfao. Now given we know you well, you'll swoop in here with the ole ackshually with a definition of "delayed".
But on a human level we know that having them on an alpha 9 splash screen from 9 years ago as "coming soon" means they've been delayed since then.
But you like to have your cake and eat it too so nom nom nom nom nom tread that fine line nom nom nom nom
Let's be serious for a moment.
Let's say TFP added bandits tomorrow, would that honestly change the way you feel about the game, or has it passed the threshold of the game being fun?
What I'm trying to say is this. I used to play World of Warcraft Battlegrounds. I was in the Top 3 of my server cluster as Damage Output and Kill/Death ratio. Then it just got worst and worst and worst with the the dumb-down of talents, and attributes, etc. That was years ago. In the last major expansion, they added the majority of the old talent system back, and while it's still a bit wonky, it did bring back some nostalgia, but the game overall, didn't speak to me anymore.
So even though Blizzard added things to the last two expansions that made the game fun for most, I personally already moved passed the game. WoW in general no longer holds the same value as it did in 2004-2012.
Even so, I do mostly agree with the often expressed opinion that it would be better to focus on the really important things (bandits, story) instead of trying to add things nobody asked for or try to fix player behavior.
(and is story something that's even still on the menu? Or has that been retconned to "it was never promised?")
I suppose I should go look at the roadmap.
Edit-
Followup question: Where can this roadmap be found? Other than a vague 10+ year old kickstarter goal.

They did a really crappy job with it. And the dates are all wrong since December.
So I made a new one. AI upscaled with readable text and I updated the guesstimates.

The only time I remember an exception to the rule was with the V1.0 release. I consider that as an anomaly. V2 and later confirm the rule again.
