Anyone else play with bloodmoon off?
Just wondering if I'm the only weirdo out there...

I did for awhile on Navezgane when it seemed like I spent all my time either preparing for, doing, or repairing after horde night. I wasn't getting to do all the things I really wanted to do.

Plenty of working AFK bases ensure that you don't have to. Try Cautious Pancake.

It's fiiiine , everyone need to practice on some things!

Me I tried some horde bases ideas in creative.

I play with bloodmoon off because I'm not a fan of tower defence games. Especially not this one, since it's mostly down to finessing the zombie's pathing with "magic" blocks. Also, it takes a lot of your gameplay time away from the game itself as you spend so much time preparing for it, doing it and repairing after it.

Each to their own.

I usually play mods that make the base game harder. Currently the "Craft Until You Die" overhaul mod, which makes the base game much harder. I'm having fun that way.

I already played some games without the bloodmoon in some RP way ;)

There is no shame to do it, just play the game like you want and enjoy !

Yeah I have 'em off. I'm not playing 7DTD to play a tower defense game. I'm playing it to play a zombie survival game.

Always depending on how i want to play.
E.g. if i just want to do as many different trader quest / POIs as possible as fast as possible i often disable blood moon.

There are enough other reasons like builders, to difficult, using mods, or simply don't like them.

Considering that blood moons for any experienced player are just a free XP farm, when enabled, they help more than are of bother.

Ngl would argue that as the game is rn, Blood Moons are just boring lag generators. You get 30 zeds on screen, and the game goes REEEEEEEEEE. I want HORDES, not some tavern-level activity.

You're far from alone. We've had this kind of discussion regularly over the years and many play without it. Not many as in the majority, but enough many to be significant.

I play with BM hordes on as I love defending. But to each their own.

Turning enemies off is good for learning the game. Then, experiment with enemies on and Blood Moon off. Once you get used to the game mechanics, turn Blood Moon back on and play the standard game.

Ultimately, don't worry about what anyone else thinks and play the game any way you want.

Got a 24/7 server with no blood moon.
Friends jump on and off all the time. was not to fun joining in the middle of a blood moon at a crafting base.
Or at a project site.
So instead got a mod for faster larger spawns. In Wasteland its hord nite......every nite.

Sometimes I turn it off and add dangerous cities and larger/more frequent hordes mods for a different feel to the save. It can get pretty hardcode in the wasteland.

I haven't played with bloodmoon on in 18 months. Too much time is spent building, preparing and repairing. I'd rather explore and loot.

I usually have two or three save games going on at the same time. Each with a different build, difficulty settings and/or different rule sets if any. Some of them have bloodmoons on and others don't. It depends on my mood at the time which one I hop into when I play.

I have found though that in V1 I have been turning it off for more of them then I did in the past. This is due to the way Screamers work now. Nearly anytime or place can quickly escalate in to a mini horde. Especially if I also have feral sense turned on. This keeps things exiting for me without the bloodmoon.
