I'm not trying to Potato Shame you here, however...
* Your CPU does NOT meet the minimum requirement of 2.80 GHz Base Clock
This is VERY, VERY bad for a game that people find is CPU-bound on the newest chips.
* Your 8 Year Old GPU has sufficient vRAM, but Mobile GPUs typically under-perform
Plus, it's getting a bit long-in-the-tooth for it to be expected to play bleeding edge games.
* You are complaining about Heat for a Laptop Form Factor (which is the laptop's fault)
Laptops are NOTORIOUS for being under-cooled (in all but the top-of-the-line systems).
* Power Consumption is what Games Do Best - Moar Powah = Moar FPS (for your specs).
Complaining about Power Usage, it like Complaining that Water is Wet...
* The Stuttering is likely being caused by the CPU not keeping up
It's not feeding frames to the GPU fast enough.
Of course, this is a total guess without any performance specs being provided.
* And, you didn't mention your System RAM - which is also an important consideration
None of these issues are the fault of the currently posted requirements.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, for you to even have a prayer of running 7DTD in any playable state, you'd need to:
* Clean your entire Cooling System (after an estimated 6-8 years it's probably overdue)
Reapplying your CPU's (and GPU's) Thermal Grease is also warranted (it drys out).
Both of these will require complete disassembly of your laptop to be effective.
* Drastically limit your Video Resolution and in-Game Video Settings
1920x1080 (or less)
vSync Off
Lowest Possible in-Game Video Settings (to start, just to see if it's even playable)
Even then, you'll be lucky to get even 20-30 FPS (below that is marginally unplayable).
While it may be possible to upgrade your CPU/GPU (depends on your particular model),
it will only be possible to upgrade it with compatible (ie. vintage) chips and this is not at
all advised as it's not cost-effective and would not yield much of a performance boost...
If you've been Gud, maybe Santa will bring you a Shiny, New state-of-the-art desktop...
Fingers Crossed.
Here is my suggestion.[community.7daystodie.com]
And even that needs to be updated, as the game client is now 19.3GB
Unfortunately, you did not provide any real system specs outside of listing a low-end budget laptop CPU.
Yeah, you are probably right - it could be a bit more clear for the "Muggles".
Given the large numbers of people complaining about performance (for all games),
it would be kinda neat if Steam stepped up here with a change to their Store Page(s)...
A Tool that compares the Purchaser's Rig against a given Game's Recommendations.
It could Display a Warning if your Rig is Marginal before you actually make a purchase.
Heck, combine it with the Steam Statistics database, and they could even estimate FPS.
Of course,
Then we wouldn't get to School Forum Users complaining their state-of-the-art rig - isn't.
I would miss that... It would Kill my Inner Troll.
Yeah, but I'm betting you also have the separate Math Co-Processor Chip.
That makes all the Difference...
Try turning dynamic mesh off from the main menu options, and in game options set dynamic mesh to 500, don't ask me why but it seems to help, turn v-sync off.
No issues with other games. I have not tried playing inside a walk in freezer yet.
Yeah, but it's Winter Now (brrrr), so Enjoy Sittin' in the Warmest Room in the House...
I unsubscribed from the discussion a notification brought me , so i didn't respond.
While your arguments make sense
My cpu does run at 3.90ghz (turbo boost , H series is constantly on)
I solved the heating issue a year ago when it thermal throttled. It runs at a cool 70C for now.
And this is thing ran cyberpunk at 60 so im not very worried about the mobile version of this gpu
Its just 16gbs ram
Now even with that your argument holds water
What made me even respond in the first place was
"Plus, it's getting a bit long-in-the-tooth for it to be expected to play bleeding edge games"
Which... I thought you meant generally right? Cause surely you didn't mean 7days2die right?
But then
1920x1080 (or less)
vSync Off
Lowest Possible in-Game Video Settings (to start, just to see if it's even playable)
Even then, you'll be lucky to get even 20-30 FPS (below that is marginally unplayable).
That seems... wildly blow out of proportion cause I get 40-50fps. With some stuttering
But the reason for my post. And the general anger of people over the years of this 12 yr open alpha.. Is it looks like ♥♥♥♥. Its not even generating terrain.
Games that look better than this. That have many many more AI than this running , don't pull this ♥♥♥♥.
And your response made it seem like im complaining about running cyberpunk in raytracing?
I just want to say. Im not picking a fight , but , it seems like you made this game seem wildly more ... everything , than it is. Which i dont get.
So i just want to say , im sorry im not buying it.
but then. Again.
Thank you for not potato shaming me. I know steam survey this year shows more people have moved onto the 2060 with the 1060 not being as average as it was last year. I might have to upgrade but the AI in the cards is bugging me , i dont like the hyperstich whatever they do in animation and i dont like the idea of some weird ceo giving me mouse lag herpies
I'm gonna be real with you. You're playing on technology that mind as well be 100 years old when it comes to computers. I struggled with my old PC and yours is worse than that, so honestly, you can't complain about performance.
And I was playing cyberpunk on the PC I listed above and had to have everything on low and it looked and ran like crap from what I can remember. So don't go around acting like that crap PC you have can play CB2077 smoothly.
You shouldn't need a games page on steam to tell you how outdated your PC is.
I'm not trying to be a douche, I'm just being honest.
Also, merry christmas. I hope santa brings you a brand new 4070ti super.
