what do you mean reduced as of 8???

When 8.0 was released, the odds of finding an Auger or Chainsaw was reduced to make them more rare. They were never meant to be an easy find like there were in 7.10. Also fuel cans were reduced as well from the looks of it, they seem to be harder to find now.

I once found BOTH a chainsaw AND an Auger in a car near the large cabin on the NW end of the "Private RD" on the southern shore of the Spillway Lake. If you are confused where the cabin is, it's the closest one the the farm with all those dogs. However, I only found them on the last patch and as stated before, it's random. If you can't find 'em in cars, then the cardboard boxes within garages are your best bet since they respawn to whenever you set the respawn times to.
