Need to find or craft a Weapon Repair Kit. I believe there's a book that teaches your character to make them, found as loot in the world.

Damn it you are fast at replying today Jaga lol.

Here is a link on how to craft weapon repair kits :)

I find a lot of them without the need to craft, if you are inclined to look around. I like the way they are now vs the old repair system.

To repair simple bashing weapons you will need metal strips, which you make from pipes. Crossbow uses sticks, stone axe needs small rocks and so on. Mouse over the item and it will display a tool tip telling you what you need to repair it.

What El Squid says is true: some of the more simple weapons like clubs, crossbows, sledgehammers list their repair requirements right on the tooltip. Sticks, stones, metal strips are generally what they need.

^^ This .. lol

As the normal after i have posted a reply think to myself .... Hmmm did the OP mean mele weps or the guns in game.

So i come back here to edit my post to say that if you mouse over the weapon/item in question it has a tool tip on what it needs to repair and more info about the item itself hehe.

side note: I really should have a coffee before replying to some questions lol

thanks for all your responses guys, the problem was i had the weapon repair kit etc. but when i would go to repair, it just auto makes it breakdown all the items lol. still can't repair anything.

You put the weapons repair kit next to the item to be repaired in the grid, not on the side box which is there to break things down. Weapon in the center, repair kit to it's left.

In the past i never repaired any tool or hand weapon.
Fot a couple of days i've been repairing my pickaxe a lot of time and once my spike club.
I really wonder if it's worth it to repair.
It takes a "huge-lot" of iron strips while a pickaxe is only 4 iron ingots...

Dunno if someone checked the real difference between the two options

Someone did. Can't remember the details, but it was more economical to repair a pickaxe than to craft a new one.

IMO, any melee weapon that requires metal isn't worth the cost. If you like killing, they break very quickly. I only use the knife in life-or-death situations.

Sledgehammer FTW, only melee weapon I carry...

Dunno if someone checked the real difference between the two options

1 Iron Ingot = 4 Forging Iron = 12 Short Pipes = 60 Metal Strips.

Iron Pick axe = 4 Iron Ingots.

4 Iron Ingot = 16 Forging Iron = 48 Short Pipes = 240 Metal Strips.

Iron Pick axe has durability of 300 and each Metal Strip repairs 10 durability, therefore it takes 30 Metal Strips to repair from 0 to 300.

So either you can craft 1 Pick axe for 4 Iron Ingots, or you can repair from zero durability 8 times (240 Metal Strips divided by 30 for full repair= 8 times) for the same 4 Iron Ingots.

Laid it out flat out simple for anyone that isn't strong in math to follow :)

TL;DR

For the same cost of making a new Pick axe, you can fully repair your old one 8 times.
