private server?
hey everyone.

this might sound dumb to a lot of you but is there a way to play with friends but be able to access the same game without the "host friend" being online and in game? so when they are offline others can still play it?

You can create a dedicated server of your own. It's not very hard. You can add a password and keep it off the server list too.

You should use the the current serverconfig.xml, though, instead of what the writer has there, since some of the settings have changed.

Also, you might want to use this Server Manager instead of the .bat file, it makes it easy to change the xml file, customize, and shutdown the server.

so just create that batch file, forward the ports and go for it? its that simple?

Pioneer's software is nice though, and he does a good job keeping up with the main software.

and your friends can access it while your not on?

Yes. Though my wife and I play off our local IP, I'm pretty sure we could use the regular IP. As long as the server is running it's accesible.

That was the reason I set mine up, I wanted her to be able to do things when I'm working.
