Takes a look at the post pinned at the top of the list called "How to set up a dedicated Server guide". Should help. ;)

you dont have to setup a dedicated server man. just start your saved game and in the options before you hit start you will see max players, set that to 2, and than put a password on it and tell your friend

How do they find me and join me?

just name the world to your liking and tell your friends about it or you can invite them to game via steam

That usually works, but for me, only my buddycan host, no one can connect to a game I launch. I haven't been able to figure it out, though I'm fine with just playing on theirs.

If you haven't, you may want to go into your router settings and open the 25000 port, I couldn't join my buddy til he did that. The game's connection just seems a bit off right now.

You need to open the following ports:
25000-25003(UDP/TCP) and 30000-30003 (UDP/TCP)

just go to the setup screen...give it a name, and set it to "public" rather than private...hit start and it'll go thru the creating world process...you'll then come to a command that says hit "enter" to launch world...you don't have to yet,,,but the game will show up on the master server list..

give you friend the name and # of max . players...they can then use the filter on their "connect to server" screen to find your game much more easily than searching thru the hundreds of servers ...

It's your router, same as me. You do have to open the ports as posted by Red Eagle above.

When playing with my friend I start the game, give it a password, and give him the game name and PW. Sometimes he has to give it a couple minutes or refresh the list a few times before it'll show up on the server list. Make sure it's set to "Public" as well instead of "Private".
