Port Forward Advice?
My son and myself are loving the game, but after trying for a couple of weeks, I still can't seem to get port forwarding to work. Minecraft, Terraria, and many other games I've had no issue with and can port forward with ease, but that ol' 25000 just won't open. I've tried 25000-25003 as suggested in the official server guide, countless other guides and youtube videos, and various other places I've seen suggested. I also followed this as well and set everything up precisely as instructed with my specific router -

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DIR-615/7_Days_to_Die.htm

No matter what port checker, web or otherwise I use (canyouseeme, etc) it won't show as open (yes, I am running the game when I check :D).

So is this a case of my router just not wanting to play ball with the game at this point (which is fine, I just want to exhaust all options before I quit trying), or might anyone out there have an inkling of what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help and/or advice, and keep up the great work devs!

Sadly it's not an option.

When you log into your router you should be able to change the ports? There should be some way to do it. I had a pain of a time doing it but finally figured it out

I would contact the router manufacturer or internet provider to see if they can help too

Port forwarding with the router itself doesn't seem to be an issue as all the other games I port forward work fine. I'm thinking this may just be a case of general incompatability, at least for the time being. If I have time this week I'll try to get in touch with Dlink and see what they say. Thanks for the suggestions though!

I'm guessing your forwarding the right ports. You looked at the guide in this forums i'm sure. Just trying to help and your welcome. Good luck with it

Port forwarding

INBOUND
Protocol: TCP
Ports: 25000-25003,30000-30003
Protocol: UDP
Ports: 25000-25003,30000-30003

OUTBOUND
Protocol: TCP
Ports: 25000-25003,30000-30003
Protocol: UDP
Ports: 25000-25003,30000-30003

and 8080 for the web panel

for normal routers INBOUND and OUTBOUND are the same.

Yes, ran through the guide multiple times hehe. Oh well, we can always find a server online until it gets sorted out. Still having a blast though and loving the new update. Thanks again!

Dude if you still interested (and if your ports are correct):
1. Go to your 7daystodie game folder.
2. Find and edit serverconfig.xml with notepad or notepad++
3. Look for "DisableNAT" line and set it to false or true (depends if it's on or off in your router - just try).

Hope it'll help. :csgostar: :-)

Yep.

In hosting on my machine, I only had to forward port 25000 (not using any of the other remote methods so no need for them, also not public), and tell the game to not disable nat. Everything ran perfectly. (Netgear WNDR4000)

The only suggestion I have to offer BigSparky (since everyone else has covered the bases here) would be try resetting the router and then forwarding. There have been times where I have had to do that with various routers (Dlink included). So maybe give that a shot if Pipman's suggestion doesn't work out (I think it should for what its worth lol).
