Private Game/Password?

So I play single player till I get myself really grounded in the game, and I turn my game options to Private Server, and some guy still finds me and joins.

So then I set it to Private Server with a rediculous password no one could guess, and some other guy joins it...

How is this possible?

How do I keep other people off my game while I am building and learning the ropes?

Have had people join while set private but so far nobody gets through the password for me. Strange

aye, i have made a public server with a password and only the folks i've given the password to has ever been able to join. Not sure about how many players you've put it at, but i've only made two player servers.

I haven't had that happen since I started setting a password but if it does... If you're not running a dedicated server, simply quit and restart. That shuts your 'server' down and you'll be alone again at exactly the same location and time.

If you are running a dedicated server then I have no clue for a workaround.

I find that I usually have to re-enter the password when I re-start the server after I quit so maybe it is losing the password that way? Otherwise - dunno. Never had anyone join mine with a password.

It might have been that, can't remember if I hopped out and back in without resetting a password... Still always set to private game...

Happened twice so far, different people each time.
