The devs don't read here. Seriously. They really don't.
You can disable the damage for the log spikes.
Every "gud" base design in this game looks exactly the same.
A fricken island building in the middle of a sea of spikes that people build temp wooden frame bridges to and from.
Could do with some variety.
Sure, the mess will be repugnant but there's nothing like the sound of sizzling flesh. >:)
A fully-upgraded Log Spike costs the equivilent resources of a whopping twenty eight Wood planks and 8 Scrap Iron. Not to mention the constant time spent on upkeep because something decided to brush up against them as they pass.
That made me laugh. :)
I mean their big and round youd have to be an idiot to get impaled on those. try imagining a 1m large spike cone...not that hard to pass the whole field without hurting yourself even if you trip you fall on its side and that isnt that dangerous...
Try imagining passing a field of small sharp spikes with iregular order.... dont trip and fall on those,,,,
I hate it when you pass next to a log spike and you take dmg...wth is the character doing? trying if the tip is sharp by smacking his hand on it?
Not sure if you can but it would be cool if you could put spikes on the wall it would make more sence to me
So if you're gonna nerf one, nerf the other. Before we start seeing seas of wood spikes instead of seas of log spikes. They're more of a pain on the eye, too.
Variety is always good but this isnt really variety, its just nerfing.
In my opinion it just depends on how someone plays the game and what they expect from it.
I personally hate the change, I dont want to babysit my log spikes all day, plus the new costs is nuts, not to mention the nerf on scrap iron from resources. If you had a big base before you already had to do enough damage-maintenance on them. If I want a failproof base I will just make a hole in the ground.. done. If I want a failproof base above ground I will just make one on stilts, covered in spikes, done, they will just walk on. It's not making gameplay harder just more annoying.
They can nerf them, but I do hope somewhere along the line the devs plan to expand on the game, add new weapons and traps we can experiment and play around with, instead of nerfing whatever it is people use at the time, as if to force them to try other things. Other things that don't exist.
