Farming problems (crops are disappearing)
I dont know why but I can plant only corn and cotton. If I plant anything else (potatoes, blueberries, coffee, yellow flowers) it will disappear in one or two days. Plus if I plant one potato and the second next to it, the first one disappears instantly. What the hell? Do you guys have the same problem? This bug have occured since aplha 11 and no one have reported it yet? Pleae somebody report it. This big bug should removed. Please test it just in case. Thank you

Yes - happens to me too. Both planting those crops next to each other and coming back to find them gone and the soil looking like it was never tilled.

As for reporting it - you could always look if it has been and if not treport it yourself ;-)

I rarely farm, so it doesn't really bother me.

Some crops *are'nt supposed* to be planted next to each other... you need to use a "dice" like pattern.

Im assuming you planted allcrops nut corn and cotton in fertile soil tilled by the hoe.

corn and cotton can be planted on any surface and most other plants need tilled earth - if they are planted on normal soil they will vanish just as you described , also most plants must be planted with 1 block gap between rows so for eg in 3x1 block area you can plant 3 corns but only 2 patatoes there mus be a gap between them if there is not one of them will vanish while planting at least thats how it worked pre patch 12.3 - after hotfix its possible there is somthing else going on but atm i had no time to play 12.3 so i might not know ;) Cheers

Oh... I think I am stupi now. Ok I think I used the hoe wrongly. I didnt know that I hve to put those seed in to the "mole" that hoe do after I clicked on the surface. I hoed the whole row of the groud so only the last block was prepared for seed. Thak you so much guys. That was my mistake.

I've just recently came into this problem. However I didn't realize the problem until I planted underground. When my farm was above ground I could plant in a row back to back no spacing as far as crops. I still have to follow the 3x1 plot size. But I never had the problem of my crop disappearing above ground.

planting below ground has been (kinda) removed. for it to work you have to let som sunlight in. it's complicated. just plant above ground.

i don't build defences around my gardens anymore. the Zs igore the gardens/crops. on PvP people would break in anyway. i just plat a lot so that even if peple borrow some, they normaly leave most - just a sI do when I am freshly started. ;)

Golden rod. I planted a field on normal ground and the next day it vanished. Singleplayer.

Goldenrod requires tilled dirt which is a bit odd since it's found all over but I guess that they don't want such an important plant to be grown relatively easily like cotton or trees are.

Having a similar issue thought I would just revive this thread. When I am planting crops (which previously worked perfectly planted all beside each other no dice patterns no weird planting methods just every block and all grew and harvested fine) they disappear when i log out and come back into the game and then all the places where the plants used to be are now giving the message "not possible to place here" when i try to replant. I went ahead and did some troubleshooting of my own to find that I could not place frames 2 stacked high as if something were taking up the block above where the seedlings would go, I then decided to plant a tree because they take up more vertical space (this has solved many building and farming issues for me in the past) and it worked for most of the crop allowing me to plant except for a select few spaces. So i looked past it planted in the ones that were working only to log out and log back in to see the exact same plants had disappeared and i was unable to place the seeds again..

Yes, farming is bugged.

It has been working fine for, except for corn.
Kurchatov Dec 24, 2016 @ 1:30am
I use hoe and fertilizer on the ground, plant all the seeds I have all next to each other. Nothing dissapears.

I play without mods, vanilla game.

Holy hell, why you'd necro this year old thread?

Even though they say we can plant rows with no space between them I still do and have no problems with growing any combination of plants. They only disappear when i pick them.
