Single Player: Losing Inventory when continueing a game
I'm new to 7 Days to Die and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong... There's no "save game" or "load game" option, so I was assuming by just quitting the game and then choose to continue it later on that you'll spawn with all your stuff.

I had a full inventory when I had to stop playing, so I hit escape and "quit" the game (not suicide). Later I tried to continue the game and although my character spawned at the location I quit, my inventory and tool belt was blank... all my stuff had gone!

This happened twice now and it's incredibly frustrating as I can't play the game like this. The 2nd time I had even put down a bed to create a spawn location as I thought that might have been the issue, but nope...

Is this a bug? Am I missing something and doing it wrong?

Start 7D2D > Continue Game > Difficulty > Drop on Quit. change it to nothing

Yeah that's a multiplayer option apparently, but it doesn't show in the single player. It's a bug apparently, found the solution in this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/251570/discussions/0/558755529659692157/#c558755530467351494

Should have searched first I guess but it was so frustrating, had to blow off steam :)

There are other ways to fix it as well.
While in game you could open the console and check what the setting currently is by doing:
sg DropOnQuit
To change it to nothing you could then type:
sg DropOnQuit 0

You can also edit the save file to fix the save:

Ok, for changing the DropOnQuit option the steps are a bit less straightforward:
Find the save you want to fix.
Open gameoptions.sdf in a hex editor.
Search for the text DropOnQuit
The very next byte after the t in Quit is the byte you need to change. The value corresponds to the game setting 00 = nothing, 01 = everything, 02 = toolbelt only, 03 = backpack only
Example:
44 72 6F 70 4F 6E 51 75 69 74 01 DropOnQuit.
Change it to:
44 72 6F 70 4F 6E 51 75 69 74 00 DropOnQuit.

That should fix your DropOnQuit for that Save.
