serverconfig.xml
Just a short question here: Could you -PLEASE- stop resetting serverconfig.xml every time there's an update?

Thanks.

I thought the developers were watching these discussions?

LOL they do...there are moderators too. TFP are probably most active on the main website forums[7daystodie.com]. But what you asked is somewhat impossible especially if there are changes to serverconfig file because those changes need to be rolled out globally to all players and servers. The best thing would be to write down you favorite configurations and just re-enter them in when changes come. We are just laughing at the way you worded it =D just sounds comical for some reason.

Impossible? Say what? You are aware that it's possible to update file contents without deleting the file, right? This is what several hundred Minecraft mods do, and they're programmed with Java, which is a sort of bad coding language... but I won't laugh at you guys for being so mistaken and being complete d-bags towards me. I just hope you learned something from it.

Thanks.
Here is what I do:
Make a copy of startdedicated.bat (ex I have one named MYstartdedicated.bat)
Edit your copy of startdedicated.bat (so for me I edit MYstartdedicated.bat)
Replace the line part that says serverconfig.xml with something else like MYserverconfig.xml
Make a copy of serverconfig.xml and give it the same name you gave the serverconfig in you copied startdedicated batch file (so in MYstartdedicated.bat it points to MYserverconfig.xml)
Use the copyied/renamed startdedicated.bat to start your server.
Profit as now your changes don't get overwritten and you always get the latest default template with each update to compare and see what new options are added.

That is a brilliant solution! I'll do that. Thanks a lot :-)
