craft clean windows?

I can't see out my windows that I just crafted! Alternatively, can I just craft the wood window frame without the glass insert?

BTW, the recipe for window frame is odd. It doesn't require the glass pane. Just 9 sticks and I get a 4-pane window.

Yup. Please bring back the nice looking windows. I don't care if I can board them up or not, they looked nice on the 2nd floor and you could open them and use them as an exit. Why do they keep taking the cool stuff out of the game ?

I agree. I would like to see clear windows you can look out. If you can't look out them, what's the point of them? I understand we live in a post-apocalyptic setting but we craft NEW windows from scratch and those windows should be perfect.
I think they should give them a few hits before they break and they slowly get cracked and dirty as you or zombies destroy it.

The old windows were great for a nice floor to ceiling picture window at the mountain estate and the abaility to open them allowed you to shoot from the 2nd floor without breaking anything.

Not sure if I am the only one that thinks this, but the old boarded up windows looked cool. The new upgrade paths look silly. Who would board a window up like that? (Besides grade schoolers armed with paste and thumb tacks I mean) Only missing feature with the new ones is patches of duct tape for the amature carpenter. Also if I board up the windows by using the upgrade method then zombies can see you in the window. I had a hoard home in on me while I peeped through the cracks of a 2nd floor window, that was content to walk right by before. For the time being I just break them out and place a solid block in them. Being able to open them would be great. I would add that we could really use a hatch type door for our ladder filled holes. similar to the doors now only 1 block in size and can be laid down horizontaly.

I have 2 games going at the moment -- one in god mode, where I practice build my base, and the second in normal mode, where I craft the actual building I prototyped in god mode. It's frustrating because I can get empty window frames in god mode, and I stacked them to make an awesome CLEAR floor-to-ceiling window. When I go to normal crafting mode I get windows that look like 53 seagulls just ♥♥♥♥ all over them.

Edit: ah, well I just realized I can craft the crappy windows, place them, then bust out the glass. Unfortunately I can't shoot through the empty frames. But at least the view is better!

i would like a tuff bulletpoof glass. so in survival it cant be shot through instantly. and zombies cant smash it easily either.
