It's (Da Bears) messed up, I've seen a bear attack a crawler then give up and try walking away only to be killed by the crawler. Yet, when I hit one in the head, numerous times, from a 2 storied window with a flawless fireaxe, I always end up as a brown steamy pile in the woods, go figure.
On a lighter note, my boyfriend and I entered a town yesterday with lots of zombies and a bear nearby. The bear ran into the town very near us to attack a zombie. It killed that zombie and proceeded to kill at least 10 more. The bear was so helpful in clearing out that area of town that my boyfriend and I decided not to kill him :)
I do think they need to lower the amount of them just a little though and new players should avoid them at all costs ( Run away ) And never use a stone axe, fireaxe, pickaxe or bow on them. Just asking for trouble if you do. Need to use a crossbow or a firearm.
<property name="AITarget-1" value="SetAsTargetIfHurt" param1="EntityPlayer" />
<property name="AITarget-2" value="BlockingTargetTask" />
<property name="AITarget-3" value="SetNearestEntityAsTarget" param1="EntityAnimalStag" /
<property name="AITarget-4" value="SetNearestEntityAsTarget" param1="EntityPlayer" /
<property name="AITarget-5" value="SetNearestEntityAsTarget" param1="EntityZombie" />
It looks like the only target it will look for when taking damage is the player,when in range.
Unless it senses and attacks a zombie first.
that may be why some people have reported zombies smacking away on the bears' backsides with out retaliation.
you could theoretically add in another line like;
<property name="AITarget-2" value="SetAsTargetIfHurt" param1="EntityZombie" />
and then re-number the following AITargets. But I have not tested it yet, to see if it would work or not.
Are there equal amount of bears around than lightning strikes? I like statistics too.
