Suggestion for elite mobs/boss with loot
I would love to see some kind of elite mob in this game. Try to imagine this and let me know what you guys think. Add something if you want.
Your in a city. The zombies keep coming. Your having to run backwards and chewing through your ammo. Everywhere you look the hordes are coming at you but your blasting them and making gore piles everywhere.
As the gore piles start to pool together and get big, you hear a low rumble and a high pitch shriek. A big gore pile explodes doing damage and throwing any nearby mobs away. A tall, skinny skeleton zombie rises out of the ground. It has fire inside behind its ribs and fire coming out of his long fingered hands. It raises its hands and shrieks and every gore pile in a radius near him raises fresh zombies from the ground and random ones can run at you even at day time.
Killing this elite monster would be very tough but it would have a 100% chance to drop a better than average item and several rare ingredients or blue prints.

What do you guys think?

Do you read? I did not say the game is modled after Fallout.

Fallout series is a clear visual influence

I've bee playing fallout since it was a top down turn based game, before Bethesda made 3, and New Vegas, and now 4. I assure you this game (7D2D) looks nothing like fallout. The only common thread between the two is they are both dystopian apocalyptic future"ish" settings. 7D2D also is more modern in appearance, while fallout has a distinct retro future vibe. So saying that 7D2D has a fallout atmosphere is akin to bending over and flapping your cheeks I am afraid.

I can see minecraft because of voxel physics only. I'm not a minecraft player so potentially there are other similarities too. I can see walking dead a bit... but they have strayed pretty far from it for the most part. I see no fallout esk atmosphere in this game. Maybe there might be some when the add the rad suit, but I am reaching. This game is not like fallout nor is any influence noticeable.

In the background soundtrack there is a foreboding moan (a very loud groan from something that seems to be very large). I'd love to see that come from some kind of wandering zombie colossus. Something that looks to be made up of dozens of bodies piled together. Maybe something that as it takes damage, "normal" zombies in size and shape peel off and start running at you. Something you can see, hear, and even feel from a long ways off and something that moves rather slow.

Road textures, stone textures, building ruins, shop sign style and characterture, general atmophere in citys. It's there.

We kinda already have elite mobs, like the cop and the feral.

Although it might be cool to have a enemy like that. Look at what happend when they showed the first picks of the burning zombie. People just freaked out because he was on fire.

I can't imagine the fallout (pun intended) from them adding something like a flaming skeleton.

Still reaching those are pretty generic textures.

Me, I'd rather have some occasional unique zombies, but without much additional powers. I'll give a few simple examples"

1) In a Zombies Can't Run game, you'd have a jogger -- not a runner, a jogger zombie. These randomly spawn about 1 % of the time. If the game is DEFAULT or ALWAYS RUN then it is a Zig-Zag Close Combat zombie or an EMP Zombie. The Zig-Zag dodges more often and more to the side than standard zombies, say twice as often and twice as much to each side. The EMP Zombie spawns again 1% of the time, but only when you are on your Minibike. If you are within it's vicinity for more than 10 seconds, it will shut your minibike's ignition off. Then it comes to get you as a zig-zag.

2) Demo Zombies can defuse explosives as they walk within the trigger vicinity. You see them stoop down to do it. They let off a tick tock sound while they defuse. Then when done they roar before they move forward.

3) Swimmers wear a snorkel or diving mask and colorful swim trunks. They swim the rivers.

4) Jenners carry a torch in their hand. When they die, they begin to flame, after 5 seconds of flaming they explode in a small radius like a mine or pipe bomb. Upon death, the slime leaves a magazine of some kind of ammo.

5) Chameleons look almost the same as animals, but there is something wrong about them when you get close up. These turn into zombies when you attack them or when killed. They don't give the usual animal loot, but instead give you one coating of resource to make camouflage paint and zombie scent. The first makes you 10 % harder to detect for 6 in-game hours. The second removes any human smell for about 3 minutes of real-time, useful when you are going into buildings where zombies are.

6) Pointers are female screamers, but they don't scream. Instead they point their finger at you when they detect you and let out a song. When you move out of range they mirror your every move for twice the normal follow time. If you don't kill them before they sing, they call in a bear or Chameleon or rarely both, who chase after you as if they follow where she is pointing or what she is tracking. If you get away the Pointer (if alive) climbs up to a nearest rooftop to scout for you, until it dies. If in a forest, it will climb a tree along the road, an intersection, or where a path and road meet. Upon death, they will usually have binoculars on them. These binoculars only can be used from rooftops, and they have a special mode at night that allows you to actually see the smell of zombies. Unfortunately, they are only good for one hour of game time, after that the sight of smell is contaminated by your human scent and they become worthless. If you get infected or hit by any puke or stunned, the binoculars will break no matter where they are even in your backpack or belt. The rumors are that they are ex-gymnasts or circus people longing for the Big Top. They might wear mime suits or have clown make-up.

Not the best inventions perhaps, but my point is that these minor uniques simply do something that is about twice as good as your normal options, or take advantage of something missing in the game. I'd rather have those rarely spawn, like once a day or two, than have some uber BOSS zombie who takes minutes to kill and causes all sorts of mayhem in a city.
I think most of these are good- but Demos should, instead of disarming bombs, belly-flop onto them, shielding other zombies from the blast. I don't really agree with the ideas of chameleons though.
