Best places to find supplies? (Bullets and fuel)

I'm a 7 Days veteran, but this new loot system is making things increasingly difficult. For food, water, meds and weapons I'm doing great, but I need bullets for my guns and fuel for my minibike. The amount of zombies that spawn in hordes means I can't support a base for long, and so I prefer to outrun and sneak past hordes. Thing is, I've spent hundreds of rounds and 5 or 6 gas cans over the past few days, and still haven't found anything. Are there any good places to search for in a random gen world for bullets and fuel?

Bullet : craft. Shotgun messiah, information center and military camp are known to have ammo cache, but nothing beat crafting bullets.
Gas : you can craft it, but it takes forever. Gas station are your best bet (kinda obviously). Don't forget to take the oil barrel usually lying around. They can also be found randomly around, but it's rare. They are worth 6gas can (I think), which is great.

But then, as the name imply, "random gen" make it difficult to pinpoint where to look, as it's pretty much random. You can find a shotgun messiah and a gas station next to each other, or none for days.

Yeah, that's my problem- Random gen. I won't be able to craft bullets, as the only book I'm missing is Ammunition Nation. Search an entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ book store and get every skill book except the one I need lol. Thanks.

Why can't you craft bullets in rng ? Find the book, find a cave, mine potassium (stalactite) and coal (since A12 can also be find on limited quantities on the ground), makes gunpowder, use lead and copper for the rest, make bullets. Win.

I haven't yet got hold of the Ammunition Nation book- it's the one thing I'm prioritising searching for. I've turned almost fifty buildings (including that bookstore) upside- down looking for that book. I have everything else I need for making bullets. Tips, casings and gunpowder.

I got tons of ammo and guns on day one by killing zombie cops with arrows once I found a city.

dont stay too close to a bookstore, depending on the server setting, the bookstore would actually "respawn books". its all a matter of luck. we had a hard time getting the riddle of steel book, the iron helmet schematic hasnt dropped/found yet.

if you're unable to use guns, bow and arrow? tree trunk spikes? if you're alone, its gonna be real hard to survive alone. good luck and stay safe!
