Zombies coming out of the ground...and Revenants... ;)
First things first... I love this game. 12.1 is really great. One of my favorite games of all time I think. :)

Instead of zombies popping into the game world, I think it would be more immersive to have dead bodies that you find slouched over in chairs or in cars, come to "life" and coming up out of the ground ... Anyone else think that would be awesome?

I'd also like to see scenes of dead "survivors"... People who didn't make it...with messages they wrote for people to find them like in Left for Dead.

Anyone remember how creepy and horrible the revenants were in Doom 2 and 3? Remember they were the tall, white skinny half skeleton, half zombie dudes that screached really loud and would raise back all the monsters you killed. Imagine having one of those come out in the middle of a town or the big city...after you've already killed tons of zombies...

I like the first idea but the revenants...no
Well they could be like a mini boss or an elite mob... something quite rare and scary

I like the idea of more dead bodies around, and even possibly some dormant zombies like in dead island in addition to the walkers. I also like the idea of adding more dead survivors and signs of other survivors cause right now the world feels kinda dead. cant wait for npcs
Awesome ideas!
+1
The way it is now? That one dead guy over and over and over again. They could do better.
I would also like to see more zombie variation, seems odd to me that the incident (whatever it was) seemed to target very specific parameters of humanity, such as cheerleaders (not that that's a bad thing) Nurses and women in red dresses. Only counting the female population.

don't forget every guy sitting in his room in his underwear watching tv!
^lol. More variety would be happily welcomed yes. I like the idea of having "sleeping" zombies and walking ones. Also like the not so survivors. Maybe they could hold notes with directions to they're hidden Base or something for loot
yes various clothing on zeds would certainly improve overall visuall immersion - otherwise we get the feeling we lived on a planet of clones ;)
As zombies go - its a nice idea of them not just to "PoP" out of nowhere - small animation of them supossedly rising from earth would be more belivable and immersive as revenants go well that might be actually ok too - some games already have them - aka Dead space series - some of necros would faign death - in our case i think some should spawn "dead" and only become active if disturbed - aka if smelled or making noise near them or hitting them. i dont say all of them should be like that even one in a 100 would make it nice :L

I think I heard that pop up once in a video from a while ago...dunno..sounds good though
Zombies coming out the ground would be cool. Better than popping into existence from thin air!

I don't mind zombies 'popping' into the game world, I just don't want to actually see them appear as it's immersion breaking, which does happen a bit atm. Just need to improve the spawning calculations.

I had this idea too considering all the corpses lying around, I would crap my pants if a body I just searched for ammo got up quietly and started shuffled towards me when I wasn't looking.

Yeah I think there needs to be more dead bodies just lying around out in streets and in cars etc... that could any moment just get up and come after you.

Might also be cool if zombies you already killed might get up and come after you.

and coming up out of the ground ...

We really need something to stop underground being a safezone. It's boring. Probably need some new specialised digger zombie class with feral sight or something.

Have them spawn in underground caves where they will tunnel up after you if you walk over where they are perhaps.
Yeah Zombies in the ground .. where you are trying to hide. ScAaryyy.
Actually, they had planned to have corpses which "wake up" and raise.
It is just not in the game yet.
