Day Night light issues
Am a bit confused by the day/night light. At 0600 its pitch black, I just left my man holed up in a cabin at 23.45 and its still light outside. Is this a known bug or is this how its now supposed to be?
Seperate question, What time do the zeds become feral now? When I was outside prior to holing up for the night I saw a few zeds wandering around but they werent running about like i'm sure they used to

6 AM is the game start & when Z's stop running. The sun starts rising at 6 AM to start the sunrise & as it rises above the horizon it gets lighter as in the real world & you can adjust the day light length, 12, 15, 18 hour days with 18 being the default. They also changed D/N 40 to 50 & changing this will impact loot respawn & airdrops.

I know 0600 is the new game start time, theres been many comments on these forums that TFP have gotten the lighting wrong for that time, theres no way it should be that dark at that time but it also seems that its wrong for 23.45, it shoiuld be much darker than it currently is in my game

6 AM is when the sun starts rising & since it is below the horizon at 6 AM it is going to be the darkest, once the sun comes over the horizon it gets lighter. Deafault is an 18 hour day with a 6 hour night witch is 75% day & a 25% night.

I think the time is terrible now as well as the light in game. I'm been playing constantly since a12 release and it's not good. Playing 1 hour days and they just FLY by whereas before a 60min day as opposed to a 40 min day really gave you tons of stuff to do in a full day. Now 18 hour days or whatever the 1 hour day flys by much to quicly, I been meaning to actually time it myself, they do not appear to be 60mins long anymore.

The lighting is a separate issue, it needs to be corrected, it's very poor right now. Many times when traveling it gets so cloudy and rainy in the forest you can hardly see. That's not at 6am that is at times like 11am or 1pm or anytime. I literally when eploring ran into the back of a bear and zombies on separate occasions because the light is so poor in the middle of daylight. Those particular situations were not on a rainy day it ws just not sunny.

I've tried options in video and gotten it better than in the beginning which is was worse but it's not an video options issue. They need to correct the lighting and shadows on objects when there is "lowlight" in game; such as a cloudy day. It appears that some or most objeccts do not have light shine on them so they are very difficult to spot.

Additionally the sound is still way below par for zombies, bears or any AI creature. The reason I add this in this context is because if you don't have good vison hopefully audible sounds will help wiht proximity of creatures. If you acn't SEE them then if you heear them hopefully you can avoid them however the sound doees not allow the player to tell if the creature is 10' or 100' away.

Anyway, things to be worked on, I hope not far downn on the list. I'm still playing the H3ll out of this game and love it. Sound and lighting are probably my two biggest gripes however.

Lighting got screwed with last update. I agree with the above posts and to add another gripe. It was 12 noon, and I couldn;t see in front of me more than 20 feet. No weather related issues either.

I used to work in film doing lighting, and yes it looks like a nightmare atm. It will be fixed.

I find the comments about the light being "wrorng" at 6am kind of funny. I work graveyards and leave work at 7am, in the dead of winter it is pitch black at 6am. Right now it is July and summer time here, so it starts to get light out around 4am. So I can't honestly say it is wrong. Really depends on the season and what time of the year it is and geography. Is the sun rising from behind a mountain range for example are on a flat wide open prarie unobstructed, Too many variables to say it is wrong...

6am ligthing imo is fine, I'm not with the opinion that it's incorrect. It's just the lighting in general based on what BIOME you're in that is poorly done, sometimes regardless of the time of day.

the timing of the lighting is an issue for most ppl as it is off from reality. It just simply looks bad. Like how a bad driver would render graphics 15 years ago.

I have not had any issues with lighting, rather I was actually quite inpressed when it was a cloudy night and I could hardly see. I can see fine by moonlight though, and I have not encountered darkness till noon or any of the other reported lighting issues.Only thing I can say is the sunrises are not nearly as magnificent as they previously were.

Yes well I guess today you're going to go to everyone to the majority of my posts and disagree with me. Fine I'll start ignoring you.

I have yet to see the daytime actually light enough like all the prior versions. It's always too dark. I realize rain, nighttime, cloud cover, etc it's supposed to be dark but even in the middle of the day with zero cloud cover etc it's still too dark!

Jeeze you are easily irritated, sorry was not trying to get your goat, just sharing what I have seen for myself rather. I do not doubt there is a lighting issue given the amount of posts about it. I just have not seen that in my playthrough of A12.. I'm just adding to the discussion. Disscussion leads to revelations that lead to faster fixes. Could be a problem with specific hardware I am not using that you are, who knows.? I certainly was not trying to make it personal though.

I would just like to ask how you people that are defending the lighting can do so when the developers have stated a fix in in the works? I mean really... I would like to hear your logic.

Been sunny in my games, unless it's cloudy. I just checked and no horseshoes up my ass here. Has to be something causing this issue for somem goob, I am quite curious as to what it could be myself. I wonder if it is specific to certain GPU's maybe?
