Modifying .asset files
Hello,

I'm working on setting up a 7 Days to Die server and was looking around for a way to modify what the players receive upon first logging in. Everything I've found points to modifying the resources.asset file, but when I try to use Grim's Unity Asset Editor, it crashes.

If anyone has any advice on opening a .asset file with another editor, or some insight as to why Grim's UAE might be crashing, I'd really appreciate it.

Edit: The file editor crashes, not the server.
Edit2: Grim's UAE version 0_2.1 and 0_2.0 both crashed.

That lets you open and modify .asset files? If so, you just saved me a massive headache. :v

Yes it is free & you just pull the file out into NP modify & put back you might have to get the Firefox NP too.

You get 2 screens your PC & game files windows & you just drag back & forth & save. It is real simple & has a tutorial that I used to learn it.

No.
Maybe the Unity Assets Explorer works.

I tried that one, returned an "out of memory when expanding memory stream" error.

Sry you are right. There is no Unity 5 support for it.
Do you know the Unity Assets Bundle Extractor? It supports Unity 5.
