All I can say is that even with s 7th day spawn, or a full hub zombie army around, I don't get lag but sometimes in the middle of nowhere, wandering aimlessly with nothing apparent around, I can be hit with a lag spike out of nowhere that makes me stop dead in my tracks for a couple seconds, then I'm fine again. I would imagine it's loading something large like a horde or hub-like city but I just wasn't heading close enough to see it visually, just close enough for the loading lag spike.
SP, or MP in a server or lan? (hosting or not if MP?) Specs too.
64bit Windows 10
8GM of RAM
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @2.40ghz
AMD Radeon R9 200 series video card
I can't wait to upgrade the processor but I need a new motherboard. I have upgraded on this MB as much as I possibly can, sadly.
As a side note, this is affecting both myself and the server host. Has anybody noticed super thick fog that appears almost out of the blue? If I restart the game, the weather will be clear but it only lasts a few minutes. I almost wonder if it's not adding to my FPS problems.
Yea fog is whack but I have not noticed an fps hit from it. Zombies create the biggest hit when they spawn in. Hub city is best avoided if you are struggling with fps. Torches and candles are also going to give you a hit to your fps. Use a flashlight or mining helmet instead when possible.
Thanks again!
You're welcome, hopefully the CPU fairy visits you soon ;)
(...Right after the mobo bunny lol)
Intel core i5-2310 cpu @2.9 ghz
6gb memory
windows 7
64 bit
Geforce GT 530
Also im only playing single player as I dont play well with others lol
not looking for help on this tho, have been fiddling for weeks and not seen a single post with the same issues as me, been at least 2 years i had my rig and not formatted it once in that time with hardly any maintenance, my system is dirty and runs like a dog by comparison to when i got it and i blame this, chucked it out there in case it is a bug of some kind and other people r getting it.
Specs seem okay, though GPU could be better. On SP you have no "lag" ever. Lag is the short hand for latency which as far as gaming goes usually is used to describe poor connection speeds. What you are experiencing rather is low fps (Frames Per Second). The two biggest qucik fixes to increase this is to turn the reflections off and Vsync in your 7D2D video options. You should also scale back on most if not all of the other settings too. with 6GB RAM if you play for an extended period of time time, the memory leak in A12 will start to effect you too. So be sure to save every so often and shut the game down and restart again. Just a go around, until TFP can fix the leak. Lastly being in Alpha the game still has to see much more development before they get around to fully optimizing it for performance. Until then expect it to not run as good as completed games normally would for you.
Edit: Leave tone mapping on (box checked) or the game gets too dark.
