You guys dont have to tell me that the mac is bad for gaming, i knew that and i only bought it for my school, but in my sparetime i sometimes play videogames.
My mac have 8gb ram, and the recommended for 7 days is 6, atm. my game is using 4gb i think when playing 7dtd, but how can i load two more ram into the game? would that even help?
I play on a Mac too. But I dual boot to linux because the performance on mac for this game is crap. I had a negative review on this game for a while because of that - eventhough I love this game. I had a MacBook Pro (not retina) from 2011 and bought this current comp (MacBook Pro Retina mid 2014) _specifically_ to play this game since it was the best portable mac for gaming at the time. Still it lagged :(
I think it's Unity that is not properly optimised under Mac OS, since on the same machine under Linux the game runs much better. Also if i remember correctly the game runs in 32 bit mode under MacOS but in 64bit under Linux. Lots of other games run fine on my MacOS partition, but this one - nope. Let's hope both Unity and 7D2D will get some optimisation during the Beta stage. For now my only recommendation would be to install Ubuntu and give it a go. Since you're studying you probably have some classmate who is a Linux nerd and could help you to installa dual boot.
Good luck!
