Enter the command se
this will list your in-game player ID (mine on a SP creative world was 171 when I tested). It will also list the zombie entity numbers.
Using my ID, if I wanted to spawn the first zombie type, I would then enter
se 171 1
Here is a page with console commands to refer to (note that some require Allocs server fixes to work, such as the teleport command).

open console with ~
enter: dm
now hit the F6 key. You can now spawn whatever you want.
Though if what you want is for zombies to naturally spawn in a creative game... you can't. Your best bet is to make a singleplayer game and turn on "Cheat Mode" in the game options as you make the game. This will let you have a normal survival world with zombies but ALSO give you access to the creative menu and flying.
Alternatively if you want to turn this on in a game you already have going (that is survival) you can open the console and enter cm to toggle creative mode.
You don't need debug mode ot track FPS. I believe its the F8 key and anyone can toggle it with or without debug mode.
IMO the most useful debug mode feature that is often overlooked is the ability to quickly teleport around by the map. I believe its ctrl+right click on the map and you'll be teleported to wherever you clicked. Very handy.
yes, you're right. but you need to be in debug mode and hit f8 (i think) twice to get the chunk heat.
