my issue with guns
if we both have handguns that fire the same round thats were made the same way why does your gun firepower better thing mine if the quality is different?

the color system should only be for the durability of the gun not its firepower.

unless you want to make it where you can make better bullets, like more gunpowder rounds then thats a different story

Its not just durability. The parts are actually better made, even the same color parts have better parts that change the entity damage.

but we are firing the same round, its the bullet thats killing the zombie not the gun parts

I understand what your saying, sadly it's not the way it works ingame, it's down to the parts you use, which to an extent is true, a gun is only as good as the parts, bad rifling in the barrel, sights off, firing pin not right, sticky trigger, etc etc.

the way its is now is like we are both throwing ths same rock but yours kills better then mine?

Your rock analogy is good, but if I threw a rock it would hurt someone, if a west indies bowler threw the very same rock he'd kill someone.

bullets fire at the same speed no matter who pulls the trigger, yet your bullets kills better then mine

im just saying they should have it where the bullet can be upgraded and the color system should be the durability of the gun( how many rounds you get off before it breaks)

i just remember seeing a vid of a 50 cal firing normal round, armor piercing, armor piercing+ incendiary round.

thats how i think it should be

I'm always checking to see what I have, lets say i have a blue gun and find a blue receiver or barrel I see witch blue piece it better and use that. Using your rock analogy your friend could have a stronger arm.

I'll let someone else try who knows a bit more than me.

im just saying if the rounds the gun fires are same we should have the same damage, but the quality of the game should be how many rounds i can fire before it breaks

kinda reminds me of that artiliery gun that fire the nuke round. didnt matter the quality of the gun that fire the round, once it fired which round do you think did the more damage? normal round or the nuke round?

i guess a good example would be the arrow types, you would think a stone, iron, steel arrow would do different damages even if it fired from the same bow right?

why not bullets that way?

My biggest gripe with weapons in general is that the durability is tied to their damage. I don't care if my pistol is one shot away from jamming, that shot should hurt just as much as the first one.

Same goes with weapons. I wish degradation was only for durability and didn't actually effect the damage.

I would be completely ok if they changed it to where guns had a set damage output depending on the quality of the gun parts. They could also have the gun part quality judge the accuracy and durability like always, while the bullets have a set damage output like the arrows.

All in all, the durability shouldn't have any effect on the damage the gun does, just a reduction in accuracy.

It's not the rock that made for a abetter throw, it is th earm throwing the rock rather. AS not all arms are equal in strngth neaither are the guns. The colour represents the quality and a higher quality fire arm does more damage. Think of it like a brand new gun vs the same gun after it was left out doors for a month in all weather conditions.

A higher quality weapon does more damage because it is in better shape. The damage it does is not to tied to the durability howerver. It's just the higher quality parts have more "HP" as well. Which is logical. Back to a neglected gun vs a well maintained gun. That same gun left in the rain has some rusty parts or pitted metal on it. So naturaly it degrades faster than a well maintained one.

Quality of the firearm can impact velocity, force of the bullet itself and certainly the trajectory. Pressure is built up in the chamber as gun powder is ignited propelling the bullet tip forward, damaged or dirty gas ports would mess with the cycling of gas driven firearms. Parts of the firearm that don't create a good seal will affect the bullets velocity and trajectory as well as the impact, not to mention if the bore of the gun is damaged. What if the bore of the weapon has pitting or it's just worn inside? "Accuracy" would be off. That is why in the gun market there are performance models of the same gun, they won't do more damage but will give you the "best" results that the bullet is intended to.

All these problems though shouldn't create such a massive difference with damage like this game does. What they should of done is affect the bore accuracy vs sights as well as how often the gun can jam or misfire according to condition. Valmar does have a point as this game does exaggerate the differences that quality of firearms make in terms of damage.

For one thing I wish they would allow bulllet reloading, such as making your own "hot loads" that would require a little more gun powder but would cause more "damage" while keeping in mind that weapon durability would take a bigger hit.
