mods without server
This may be a dumb question but can you add mods to your game without a server? like if you're just playing the game normally without paying for a server can you add mods in?

Simple answer, yes you can.

Moved topic.

Longer answer: Yes you can and here is how.
Steam Client > Right-Click 7 Days To Die > Click Properties > Click Local Files > click Browse
Create a folder called 'Mods'
Put all your mods in that folder.

Absolutely. To be even more clear than red eagle...

File explorer.. Program files x86 or whatever you have... Steam... Steamapps... Common... 7 days to die... Create a new folder called "Mods".... It must be called "Mods"

Add your mods to that folder.

Make sure the mod folder you add to your "Mods" folder is the folder that contains a file called, "Modinfo.xml".

The folder with that in it is the correct folder.

Add that folder to your new "Mods" folder and start the game.

That's all you have to do.

ok new question if i've done this and it worked for one mod is there a reason it wouldn't work for others? I installed about 9 but only 1 seems to bee working. double checked to make sure they didnt have any instructions requiring different installation

Each mod should be in it's own aptly named folder, within the /Mods/ folder. Each of these individual mod folders should contain a Modinfo.xml along with the other files required for that particular mod.
