Do the devs plan on adding AI npcs?
Are they going to expand on this front other than the trader? Like being able to make a small group or to fight against groups. Or is this just not even remotely close on what this game is?

Since its a zombie game and finding people can be possible, so just a thought. Any roadmap also?

No. NPCs are not really planned in that sense.
Bandits, hostile NPCs that shoot you, are however the goal of A21.

Not like that, but they'll implement AI in near future (A21, next big update). We already have a road showing that will have 3 types of AI NPC, but not a mechanic to make a group, or faction, and fight war, none of that.

I imagine there'll be mods for it eventually, if it's not in the base game.

I will say, though... I'm looking forward to base assaults and defence against enemies with guns in lategame once 1.0 hits.

I would be very, very disappointed if they did not at least expand on neutral/friendly NPCs in addition to bandits... (but yeah I've learned to live with disappointment)

There is a mod over at seven days to die mods called npcmod that gives you friendly npcs and you can hire them to protect your base and do whatnot.

The current zombie AI is apparently the base AI for the Bandits. So you can look forward to NPC's that know exactly where you are, how to get to you, and I'm sure won't perfect aim like every turret in the game.

Me too. Games just get to feeling too.....lonely? or....empty....if you don't have some peeps you can talk to in the game. And, I don't like relying on a multiplayer server in order to get some peeps to converse with. I'd think that some more neutral NPC's would get added when they build on the story part of the game at least. But, we'll see I guess......EVENTUALLY! lol

I've watched some of the vids that showcase that mod... well, now I can understand why TFP have waited so long to add Bandits/NPCs in a proper way.

That mod is so unbalanced and so full of bugs and rough edges that if TFP added NPCs like that the whole forum would go on fire! It's easy to add NPCs that way, the hard part is to have them look believable and polished.

Glad Im not the only one down to see this one day (modding or through the devs). Game doesn't really need it, just with how it is now, and everything in game already, be a nice touch, but then it gets like most Zombie games in a way.
