I figure something would be up with it, compare to when the game first came out I can't complain. It was almost like you were playing roblox or minecraft.

It's funny how they blame the Engine when there's many indie games that have zero problems applying Vulkan or DX 12 using Unity, Valheim is one of them.

Valheim is also using a quarter of the resources that 7 Days is in comparison. It doesn't even have a voxel landscape. Might try comparing apples to apples next time.

EDIT: Just looked, Valheim isn't using DX12. It's still on 11.

You are right, Valheim using Vulkan

It uses either Vulkan or DX11, with the primary being DX11.

In comparison 7 Days uses DX11, OpenGL, or Vulkan.

It should also be noted that in the previous post it wasn't the engine that they were blaming, but a problem with Nvidia's GPU drivers.

So far you're batting 1000.

haha how old is this ALPHA again ? ya same reason you dont get world a warplanes in xbox game pass is same reason you wont see dx12 on this ever.....

THEY'D ACTUALLY HAVE TO CODE

I question why devs still use Unity when it utilizes Graphic APIs over a 12 years old and 60% slower ....

Maybe cheap ?

Because no other engine is capable of performing the intense voxel mechanics that 7 Days utilizes. Unity is literally the absolute best engine for this. No other engine compares. Unity was designed for it from the ground up.

doesnt matter which engine is used as long as the devs actually optimise their work, which can hardly be seen within 7DTD

Optimization comes in beta after all of the core feature development is done. 7 Days isn't there yet.

Well that didn't age well uh.. alpha straight to "release" with no optimisation at all.

people screamed it being in aplha to long and wanted it out now, but those are just titles.

1.0 is still just a title to get past red tape with sony and xbox.

enjoy the game for what it is. 100,000s of thousands of people been enjoying this game for 10 years with continued free updates yet the trolls are still mad they keep updating the game to keep it current

It's still technically an alpha, they just altered it to "full release" to make microsoft and sony happy with it to be re-released on consoles (re-released because it was already on consoles, but they couldn't edit the store pages for 7DTD published by tell tale who originally had the rights to console version)

Talking of optimisation, I gave the latest 1.0 release a chance, and boy is it bad. not only is there significantly less content that there was when i had originally played the game on both console and pc around alpha 15-17, the performance hit from hordes of zombies that are a main selling point of this game is pathetic. I can run the game fine over 120 fps, but as soon as a screamer comes along and spawns zombies to attack my base, fps just drops rapidly as the zombies keep spawning.

Notice how the game gets older, it has less content in each "update". 100,000s of thousands? what? the games had an all time peak of 125k on steam alone, which you cant really add players from consoles since the console version had been dead for half of the games development. and since its release, its gone from a sandbox zombie survival horror to a RPG zombie survival. the player count has significantly dropped btw.
