Best Wall Material?
I've read here that cobblestone walls are best since they are almost as good as concrete, but easier to make? Is this still true, or is there something better? I only play co-op against zombies, so material against humans isn't necessary.

concrete can be upgaded to steel with a wrench right now, 5 steel ingots ber block tho.

Rebar frame, use repair tool with wood planks in inventory, then pour Concrete Mix - Reenforced Concrete. Probably the best/cheapest block right now. There are solid iron walls that I've only used in cheat mode; ridiculously expensive, though.

If you want the absolutely strongest walls in the game then reinforced concrete is the way to go as you need to have that before you can make steel walls which are strongest walls in the game. it's very costly in resources though, especially metal and it's why some people might think that making cobblestone walls is a better idea as cobblestone only requires grass fibers, sticks, gravel or small stones, and cement to make while concrete requires a lot of metal.

However, that's only the materials cost and it doesn't tell you the work needed to make the walls. For cobblestone, getting enough grass fibers to make the frames can be tedious and then upgrading those frames with the cobblestone rocks is just as tedious a process as making concrete walls ultimately as you need to upgrade the cobblestone frame 4 times while making reinforced concrete with a nailgun technically only requires 2 clicks of the mouse.

It's ultimately going to be your choice on which one that you want to use BUT there is one thing else that you need to consider. If you want to use the ramp blocks, go with the concrete. The cobblestone ramps are notoriously bug ridden right now and can actually cause your game to become corrupted completely (the dreaded never ending console pop up). Concrete ramps don't have that problem.

Re-enforced concrete and concrete are what I'm using
tried re-enforced iron / wood and wasn't to keen on it.

steel walls can be created/crafted in the normal game. Just a reinforced concrete block, and once it has dried, you need the repair tool and 5 steel ingots every block to upgrade it. Very expensive but very worthwhile in the long run. You can't upgrade reinforced concrete to steel with the nailgun for some reason tho....
As they are so expensive, i would only use the steel walls on the first 2 or 3 block heights and the rest concrete. Your base should be fine, as long as you manage the gore block heights.... in which i learned the hard way....

Just dig a pit with log spikes + metal slides for the obvious exploit and you won't have to worry about walls anymore. Makes no difference in SP.

Reinforced concrete is also intensive in regards to the time required. Forging iron bars, forged iron, pipes, frames and then there is the concrete mix including gravel production if necessary.

Decayed brick seems ok early on. 2x thick walls. You cant let a bunch beat on it though.

Decayed brick is pretty good but it has a pretty big downside. It only has one breakdown stage meaning as soon as it's destroyed, it's gone for good while reinforced concrete and cobblestone have multiple layers that a zed needs to breakdown before it breaches the wall.

You also have the option of going straight concrete that only needs the concrete mix but again, that only has one breakdown stage.

Nice, but I would not make 3 rows of Log Spikes - there is a bug that makes you get stuck if you fall in between and you take damaga until you die. So I always put one row of Wooden Spikes in between log spikes.

It's just sticks + gras fiber (for cob frame) and small stones + clay (for cobblestone filling).
I've stopped using concrete and just use Cobble Stone. Almost as hard, repairable and you can start building without a forge.
