Zombie Cop removed? Variety of zombies needed
With A13, more than ever I think we need a greater variety of zombies and new challenges.

Perhaps it is just me, but I've reached Day 18 already and have yet to see any Zombie cops. Now if they were removed I would question why. If it was because people thought their acid puke was too destructive why not just tone down the block damage?

What has been the biggest issue to me and 7D is the lack of variation and whether the devs are trying to create a more realistic game (as real as it can be) or something with a more fantasy / fictional backdrop.

New mocaps? Sure it's nice, but it still hasn't really changed anything or really added anymore depth to the game or uniqueness of any of the current zombies. I've been playing on and off since I don't recall which version A10 or A9 likely, and the gameplay (primarily combat / encounters) has been the same.

It would be nice to see something that alters how people play the game after all this time, and I do mean after all this time to give veterans a fresh experience, but more importantly to really give the game some direction. Perhaps things like the following as an example:

-Biome / building vicinity restricted zombies.
In the game's current status, I'm dying out on the field and lucky me a Nurse. Just take her out and hopefully she'll have pills / bandages. That's fine, but imo it would be a nice idea if nurses spawned naturally only in a vicinity that has a hospital. You can still keep hordes with the mix, but on the average day I don't think I'd see nurses wandering around in the middle of the forest or desert, which leads me to the next point.

-Make unique zombies unique.
As with the above statement, the current zombies do not really feel different from one another; most are just reskins and you don't really feel a particular need to hunt or go after any particular zombie for any reason or at any particular time when they are grouped. Now I'm not saying to go L4D style, but like in A12, there were cops which you would try to target to hopefully get some ammo / gun drop from. As of now there doesn't seem to be any purpose to target anything except nurses for meds and screamers to stop spawning.

-Realism vs fantasy.
What I think might be hindering how the devs are handling the current zombie enemies, system, and whatnot is that there doesn't seem to be a direction on how they want to approach the setting. Granted it seems like it is suppose to be going towards a direction of realism moreso than fantasy. Before we had acid spitting cops and now they are removed, but we still have gigantic human sized bees and feral zombies that seem like a cross between a wolverine and a tank. If we're going into fantasy setting, it would be cool to see more different zombies with different attributes / abilities possibly.

As I'm writing this I'm falling asleep so apologies if things don't make sense, I just wanted to get this off my chest before I lost my train of thought.

Cops are still in. They're in the city biomes and feral hordes still. I've noticed they're also in heatmap hordes.

Yes. I find the current setup to be nice. If they were to add another zombie, it should probably be a stealthy type that only appears in cities but has some kind of panick-causing giveaway, much like the Spider or Screamers howls. For example, a zombie that has a chameleon-esque ability of some kind? Not invisible, just changes colors to suit the biome. Not a great idea, just a top of the head one

Please no I like this game because It primarily 'normal' zombies, dont turn this game into L4D

there is a larger variety of zombies than before. they aren't reskins. they have entirely different movements which makes bow shots harder than before.

o.o

I also dont like the new zombies - the animation are interresting but need a lot of tweaking - fast forward effect - too much of everything - ice-skating.

But the bigger problem are the textures - the old zombies had "personality" while all the new zombies look the same due to their lack of colours. This may be odd but i tink what made 7DTD 7DTD were also the interresting over the top zombies - the new ones are neither really scary or realistic nor individual.

I don't want to see too many special mobs in game. Just variety in their appearance and motions. The same looking zeds, all move the same way at present. If they made one more type of special mob though for variety sake I would vote for one that digs, just for the dynamic that would bring to the game.

Other 2 special mobs of sorts I would be okay with are Military Zeds and/or Swat team Zeds. With body armor and helmets making them harder to kill. Then dropping better loot to make up for it, like AK parts from a an Army Z, or smg ammo.parts from a swat cop Z.

A13 zombies...they are much more scary, visually and how they function.

Zombies arent known for being colorful...and when you have 5-6 zombies you dont want them standing out of a crowd...like you know a fat guy in a Hawaiian shirt.

I totally agree with you. The new zombies are much more spooky, they have different sounds, different appearances and different animations.
Always get scared when the witch appears screaming.
I'm really beginning to think that Stark is a troll.

I know. I was not asking for it to be like L4D (like I originally said as well), that is going a bit over the edge. What I was asking for was something more akin to what YamaKami said below.

I would like to see differentiation in the mob itself as far as attributes go, as well as some modifiers for certain behaviors; thats what I meant by abilities. Some reskins are fine, but if devs are going to work at new zombies / models it would be nice to add biome / area related zombies.

-At current we have military bases. By normal reasoning one would think there would be militaristic zombies.

-We have churches, perhaps properly suited zombies in their Sunday mass clothes and priests.

-There are high value properties, surely there would be snoody zombies trapped inside their boarded up home to welcome us when we come knocking down the doors.

-There are factories and junkyards and tunnels, perhaps we'd have construction workers or miners wearing hardhats that make it hard to headshot these guys to the point it would be more effective at disabling them first or going for body shots.

-As far as generic attributes go, perhaps there might be some really thin zombies that are fragile enough you could easily take off their arms / legs making it worthwhile to go for limbs first.

All the above are some samples of what I mean by altering the gameplay dynamic a bit without truly altering the core game.

This. First Cop Zombie in Day 14 Feral Horde. Increased number of cop zombies in each subsequent horde.

THey do. Lumberjack zombies in the cold biomes. Seem to come in some variations but I've been staying out of the snow biomes except some mini-bike trips through one to get air-drops so I'm not entire sure.
