How to make lump of clay into clay?
I have tons of lump of clay... But forged metal needs Clay... And lump of clay doesn't count. Could anyone help me? Thanks.

put the lumps of clay into the "input" portion of the furnace, and turn it on same way you would do with iron fragments and stone

You do not. Just how there is no longer sticks, plank,s and logs, but only wood now. There are only lumps of clay now too. Not two types like in A12.

Yes the forge has to actually melt the clay before you can use it.

brown spots on your map in forest/plains or desert biome. Typically characterised by large areas of cotton, snowberries, goldleaf, iron boulders....or a combo of either.

(Further to what Revel said)

Find a clay deposit on the map (see above). Dig. You will notice that, instead of dirt, you get clay.

Feed this into your forge, along with iron ore, and you will end up with what you need for making everything iron-related.
