....barring lag, stutter,or a miss,i often kill the zombie by exploding its head with the machete in one hit.
My example uses a Wooden Club but should be replaceable with other melee weapons.
The reach of this weapon is important. If you look straight and you are on a flat surface with a zombie, the feet of the zombie should be just over the toolbar, dont let him come closer that the toolbar covers the zombie, there is a chance to hit it, aim for the head, there is approximatly the longest reach of your weapon. Then sprint a little bit backward, in case he uses his attack then he should miss. Then repeat. This works for me.
Over time you might get a feel for the safe distance between you and the zombie but where you can hit it. Then you might begin to feel comforable to fight on uneven ground.
For crawling zombies: my advice is: find the max distance where you can hit. Then to be safe after swinging, sprint a little bit backwards. repeat.
Hope it helps to get an idea of a guideline.
Over a year old thread man. This one was done and dusted until you necro'd it...
