Zombie Dog removal PLEASE, they BREAK the game!!
I was HOPING that this would have been adressed 3 or 4 patches ago but apparently not... Zombie dogs are entirely over powerd. They run at you faster than anything, they stun you instantly then kill you all under 5seconds.

PLEASE have an option to remove zombie dogs or PLEASE dont spawn them in the lowest diffuclty settings (the only one my and my friends can play on due to Zombie dogs ) They have broke though 1000 health defences in under 5 seconds and they seem to ONLY spawn 10ft from you like the Zombie hordes do everytime they spawn.

I would like to be able to just PLAY the game and NOT have to quit and turn the damn zombies off to NOT die in 5secs from Zombie dogs.... REALLY game breaking...nothing says fun like "Hey enjoy the game? Not anymore because Zombie dog"

I think in A13 the difficulty has changed - on the lowest level it's much more easier. I like to play the easier way - more building, farming,... Further I wrote a guide ho to make the game easier (half health and attack from Z's, also remove dog's and Cop's) - but in A13 I play with them. A few admin's do not wanted to change the spawn file and they changed the speed and damage of the dog's.

Yes, dog's are a pain in the a.. But it's part of the game. I think in the situation on the start any player hide from all Z's, then we can fight against most Z's. But for dog's we have to wait, like against feral or bears. So anyway, I think they protect better item's - we should not get at the start.

We all beware from dogs and we hide from them, 100% on the first day's. But we can risk it to get better item's.
I think dog's are in the forest, burnt forest, wasteland and near houses. I think they do not like frozen areas... - any informations from other players?

Against dog's helps a lot:
To see them first. Get to a higher place, where they can't touch You (wodden frame or other blocks) and kill them with a bow or a better distance weapon - also You can use a melee when You will crounch. You only need against dog's a other tactic them against other Z's. Most player's went back and shoot/melee against most Z's. Against dog's that do not work, because they are faster than You! So You have to think and try a tactic against dog's.

PS: with a good armour and a high level on the weapon you are using: dog's are easy to kill ;-)

5 dogs spawned near my gas station base. I go around the rooftop with a bow and arrow. Couple of minutes later - 5 dead dogs, and meat, animal hides, and bones a-plenty!

Stop complaining, and learn how to deal with the harsh realities of survival. Strategy planning is key.
lol psycho! im glad to be not the only player that need a challenge.

I think this game is seriously lacking of a difficulty curve. In the beginning, it's harder, and randomness will kill you. Like a dog horde on day 1. Later on, the game is way too easy, because you have everything you need, and you face the same old zombies.

I think we should have a curve. Dogs should be extremely rare in the beginning, except for areas where they spawn like barns. Same for cops, or feral. However, as you progress in the game, they should start to be more and more common.

I don't mind a challenging game. But I don't want one that suddenly becomes a walk in the park because I can craft a crossbow now. I know I don't have to, but spending the whole game with a stone axe, a bow, and a wood club is going to be really lame.

I think it should be an annoying enemy, but the most annoying for me is how they poor animation make them so hard to hit on the head. the random zig-zag run move they head so randomly, and then they keep running all around you making imposible to hit them. and maybe to much hp for a dog. Also they don't do anny noise sometimes

ever been attacked by a dog irl? You are lucky if you can get a good kick in before they go for your throat.
And i'm not talking about those puny lapdogs that eat chocolates and lick live between their mistress legs arms...

Jumped on top of a Stone pile when i got attacked by a dog horde, they chewed trough the stones in seconds :D need a bigger rock.
haha! cu later in the pub dude!
As for "Dogs need to be extremely rare in the beginning" ... the default setting is that for the first 5 hrs you are in a no-spawn zone.
What you do in that time/zone is up to you. But if I were you i'ld either haul ass away from city/wastelands or stock up on as much defensive/offensive stuff you can find.

I have no problems with the dogs. Starting on day 6 you have a chance of getting a full blown dog pack. 3 Rows of spikes around your base = sit inside and listen to them die without doing a damn thing. If you're out and about on day 6 youd better have beer on your hotbar drink it and run like the wind. easy money

When they add more zombie types, the kind i have a feeling theyl add, they will do more difficulty arch rebalances.

That's what multiplayer pvp is for. When zeds aren't scary enough, gun-toting nutjobs who are also bored as **** generally do the job.
well dogs are kinda meant as an area denial creature (of sorts) for eg thats why going into wasteland is such a bad idea and thats good - yes they can be hard to deal with - esp if there are few of them but that the point - if you cant deal with them go away (or rather run away :F just keep running away until it looses interest it still works - ive run form them in a13 too) - get more prepared get more practise and then take them on - imho they are far more deadlier than cops assuming you cant go above them to be out of tehir attack range - if you od - they are very esay to deal with. wooden spikes (not log spikes) deal very high damage and they kill them quickly - so its always good idea to plant some around and have some with you as well. Cheers

If it's just one or two dogs, you can literally just kite backwards while running with a bow and arrows to kill them. It's actually really easy, since they repeatedly run in a straight line into your arrows for a headshot. Doesn't even take more than like 50 stamina.

The game becme way too easy after 2-3 ingame weeks even with all those scary dogs. Removing them will result in no fun from day 2!
i dont mind them, however there is a farm not far from my base that i can watch spawns dogs endlessly. i can sit and watch them spawn one every few seconds, but they seem to be stuck inside the farm fence and cant get out. theres probably 60 or so in there at any given time. great source of leather.
