Alpha 13 how to get clay?

Anyone know how to get clay? I used the spade and got lumps of clay but can't work out how to get normal clay

I'm not sure you do anymore. There was a lot of streamlining to crafting. Like raw meat is just "meat" now, from all animals. But I haven't checked the recipes extensively to see if anything needs the raw clay. I think the Decayed Brick wasn't there anymore, tho?

Open map and chek for brownish spots on it, thats clay.

If you're looking to make a forge the new model requires lumps, not the original "mound" that you could turn into 9 lumps. If there is a recipe that still uses the old clay model, that's probably a bug and you should report it.

They were wondering what happened to the brown "dirt piles" of clay one used to get from digging the ground. Now all you get is the grey "lumps of clay".

I dug the brownies spots on the map and that gives lumps of clay, but the new items need CLAY any ideas please?

I see: 50 lump of clay, 50 small stone, 1 bellows, 1 short iron pipe. Works fine.

If you're seeing the old clay as a requirement, it's either a bug or ... did you start a brand new game? Old saves likely won't work/would be very glitchy.

This, and also be sure you don't have any modded XML files around that would have clay recipes...

Oh that. It's still the lumps of clay (must be a typo/forgetfulness). You need to put the fuel into the "fuel" area to the side (while in the forge menu), then materials in the input area, then turn the forge on (click the words under the fuel section)
