7 Days to Die
Temperature in Celcius or Kelvin
Hi, I read the last infos about hte A13-update.
I'm very interessted in all the new things and I hope it will be there soon :)
But there is one thing that bugs me.
Temperature measured in "Fahrenheit".
Really? I mean... really? Why do you use Fahrenheit as a scale? Why not... celsius or kevlin? REAL scales. With real reference points and not this.... stuff no one knows what it is...
Please change this and use a real scale or at least add an option to change it, so everyone can use the scale he or she likes (and understands)

We must use celsius for many games and I don't complain about it, I just know some basic areas of reference, this game is based in the United States so it makes more sence to use fahrenheit.
It is not hard at all to know a few numbers to reference them to something you already know. And then you won't be confused in the future when someone tells you a temp in fahrenheit.
Seriously though, other than my ham thermometer I really don't remember when was the last time I saw a thermometer which did not have both scales. So most of us have pretty good clue. I'd rather be concentrating on the game rather than doinng math, even as basic as this.

I only know how to use fahrenheit, when I first played don't starve they only had celsius, did I complain, no. Suck it up, they'll add it eventually, don't act a baby.
Learn a real scale. Don't act like a baby

Because this game is an international one and it probably takes like 5 minutes to add an option?

Just becuase there is a international presense doesnt make it a international game. And again, i dont disagree, i think they could have added it, but clearly, AMERICA!

Last I checked Canada is a rather large portion of America and they use Celcius.

Do not get offended by my little tidbit of information for you https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrenheit

Green is Fahrenheit
Sorry, I hope u don't get offended by this little tidbit of information for you.

Edit: USA population ~300 million.. world population ~7,5 billion. do the math...

And yet all those people can't make good video games so we're stuck with all the terrible American games. Sucks, huh?

Also, Chineese is the most spoken language in the world, so I think all games should be in Chineese. Do the math. Flawed logic is flawed. :steammocking:
lol a "termperature-scale fight"...nerds!!
I live in the U.S. but I don't get mad when I play Euro Truck Simultor and have to drive on the left side in some places. I also don't mind my speed being measure in Kilometers...it helps the immersion in a way. besides, couldn't this be work for the modding community?

Not really. If gamedevs explain it this way, it would be correct if they chose to dev ganes in chinese. But by the way... you can't compare grown social things like languages with logical developed things like scales.

Uh, the US system of measurement is "grown social" (is that even a phrase?) just like language. It's everywhere, on every measured action and item, and used in all social exchanges from the day you're born. Also as mentioned already, Americans put up with the same thing in the very rare mildly successful games actually developed outside the US. Seriously, water freezes at 32 and boils at 212. I have no problem remembering 0 and 100 at 1 atmosphere for quick mental extrapolation. If you can't remember those 2 facts about temp you may have a learning disability.

I dont disagree with you, but do feel its a petty argument in the grand scheme of things. I really dont think it would that hard to add C, but again, the game is made in U.S, so it makes since to run on our system regardless if that system if accurate or not.

It makes no sense! since people from US dosent know the system
It would much more sense to add a bar/scale going from cold to hot to show how hot & cold it is

I'd prefer a system like this. Blue for cold, red for hot.

♥♥♥♥ numbers!
just remember that 100F is 37,77C and 33F is 0C

It's even easier to just do the mental math to be honest. One is in increments of 9 while the other 5. So if 77F is 25C....... add 9 you get 86F which would give you 30C. 95F would be 35C etc etc. Just a few minutes of practice and people would have it memorized and never have to worry again.
