Can we please have the research desk from the AfterLife Mod in base game?
I liked Alpha 21.2 much better then release and I am going to be honest here, this is a pretty big rant.
There has been changes with somethings that I am not happy with, but the main one is the new Magazine Crafting Recipe System.

I do not like the Magazine Crafting Recipe System as it makes gaining crafting recipes much more of a chore then they were before.
Also with how random the Magazines can be there really is not a solid guarantee that you can find all the magazines you want.

I recently learn some tricks to the Magazine system like Cement mixers always having a Forge Ahead Magazine and focusing the Trader a lot more then I was used to.
Also putting a single point into certain skill points helps to increase the drop chance of certain magazines.

This new system is a lot more tedious and annoying then the old system of using perk points to unlock the recipes.
I personally find it hard to get used to and would like the old system back.
HOWEVER, if we are going to keep this magazine system can the player please have a bit more control over the system rather then this weird thing where we put a single skill point into a certain skill.

I recently saw this video below and I think that if the Research Desk from this mod was to be implemented into the base game i would be happy enough with the system we now have.

Thank you for reading my rant.

FWIW, many find the vanilla game easy. Having magazines (and books) on demand disrupts the vanilla progression curve and distorts the difficulty. It also ruins the sandbox play of the game, where a player rolls with what the game provides.

If magazines are truly a game ruining experience try a simple mod.

"Research Bench - Craft Skill Magazines V1.0"
www.nexusmods.com/7daystodie/mods/5022

Each magazine scraps to two research notes and six research notes are needed for a new magazine.

This is basically what I would like in Base game.
The games progression in older days felt good to me.
There was a small bit of balance needed for somethings but for the most part it I didn't feel like you were going to be getting an entire set of teir 3 gear in the first week

One of The main reasons I hate this new progression system as it is almost entirely luck based.
If I could at least take some magazines and then make magazines I actually wanted then I would be happier.
The trader would also be viable if they didn't take 15 magazines for one and maybe we're closer to 4 or 5 magazines for 0ne.
