Random Gen Lakes/Rivers
My wife and I have been playing 7d2d since 12.5b and have gone through many random gens without ever seeing any lakes or rivers at all. Anyone else have similar observation in your games? Should I actually be able to find bodies and systems of water in random gen?

Im finding plenty in my SP game. Rivers are gone from what i can tell but theres alot of lakes out there.

edit, some you'd have to call puddles but there are some actual swim across lakes as well

It all depends on the seed you use, some are epic others are to be honest, complete and utter sh!te, it's all down to the RWG fairy.

In my experience, full-on lakes only appear after a cretain distance away from the main hub city. Then of course, you go far enough and you hit the ocean that surrounds the world now.....

But yeah, if you're looking for lakes then get further away from 0,0 coordinates.

We have traveled in different directions for quite some ways, and I guess we just haven't chanced upon the right direction, however slim a chance it might be to miss it every time. Thanks for the info, guys.

Well, in my actual seed the only water that I found was several little holes filled with water in a city.
But besides that, nothing, zero, nada, 何も, nichts, niente... :steamsad:

our friend had just made a server, for us to play on and its seriously water world out here.. non stop running into lakes and rivers, sometimes I feel as if most of them are all connected, this includes having entire towns spawn in the water, which is kinda interesting cause all the buildings spawn 3 blocks down with a layer of water on the edges in their own pit but the water does not fall in till you make a block or damage something by it

This is what I see. And I do a lot of random seeds and usually takes me about 5-to-10 before I find one that's interesting (as in challenging).

absolutely this, got a weird map going on atm, i'm in a desert at 150+ meters, never goes over 60f, and thats the low point of the map, all directions take me higher, super boring map it is too, but i've used it to fine tune my cold weather survival as all my previous seeds have been predominantly hot.

think i'll ave a new map for 13.7

Seed name 00Misery00 there is a thread related, these are some of the water areas I have found on that seed. Thank Spared_life for the seed.

Wow that is pretty wicked. We'll definitely give this one a try. Thank you for sharing!

I've had some small to medium lakes (not the pond POI's) within 1000-1500 of 0,0, but the really big ones are usually farther out - and I don't mean the actual "ocean" aspect. Truly landbound (not coastal) lakes seem somewhat rare most of the time - they're there, but you won't be tripping over them in most seeds.
