Why does bullets disappear after such a short range?
Now the last alpha i played was a̶l̶p̶h̶a̶ ̶1̶1̶ EDIT:ALPHA 10, i just install and got back to 7dtd,2 days ago and im confused about something

Today i got hold of the new ak, after wandering around the hub for 15m looking for a poor båstrad to gun down, as i turned a corner i saw a guy standing like idk 15m away, i unleashed hell on this poor guy, emptying a entire mag into his face, only for him to turn around and shot me with a rifle followed with a "LOL" in chat, first i thought this guy was a hacker or something, but then i went into a singleplayer game and set up a gun range with windows and test out if it really could be true that a smg and ak has a range of 10m, and i was really confused, when i couldn't even shoot a target with a sniper rifle more than like idk 60m away!

As far as i know back in alpha 10 guns didn't have this completely ridiculous short range!? And whatever parts or skills you have shoudnt matter, i never heard anything more riddclous than if you have higher skill you shoot longer and harder? That sounds like a arcade shooter or CoD, not a realisme game

Is there something im not getting right?

Mate.... You think me a idiot? I have only played shooters for like 10 years, no if it was bullet drop i figure it out but No the bullets simply vanish, i emptied 300 rounds into a 4 by 4 window wall 15m ahead of me, not a single bullet hit, so unless the bullets do a 160 degree turn......

Can we vote on this? Because falloff and accuracy are related to (a) your player character skill and (b) the quality of the four components of the weapon. And, of course, you have to deal with his armor and it's resistence.

If you're low skill and have a crappy weapon and go up against someone with great armor and high armor skills... Yeah. You may have shot someone who is close to invulnerable in those conditions.

OTOH, he one-shot you. Which makes me think he was way, way outside your league and you didn't understand why and are blaming the game.

It's like taking a Tier 2 cruiser up against a Tier 5 battleship in World of Warships. It ain't gonna end pretty! Least for you. The BB will be going 'lol' all day long. But you'll be sinking.

For what its worth, I've actually looked into items.xml and for whatever reason the AK has the EXACT same values as the SMG. Same damagr, same range, same fire rate, even the same magazine size. The only difference is the AK reloads faster than the SMG.

Needless to say, I made changes. The only thing I can't tell is the guns accuracy, since I don't see/understand the values for those.

I know the devs have tought time balancing the game, but holy s, they didnt bother changing the most basic stats of a new weapon? it is just numbers in a text file

And also yes a hunting rifle is ALWAYS a 1 shot in the head, unelss you got a helmet with xx% def

Why dont you read some of the post the other people in here made, who knows maybe you learn a thing or two. i googled this and there are many people who are reporting this problem, but sure mate, tell yourself everyone who is having this prolbem is just lying! I also see that you dont have much to bring to the table so we might as well stop here

You should have thrown your AK at him. Most humans can easily throw it more than 30meters and with luck you can hit his eyes and blind him or his hands and break them.

Did notice this at A13 when it first landed, so this is a bit funny to hear they still havent changed stuff in the items.xml file also some items stack when they should not stack & visa versa ^^

Aye, I personally made the AK have a longer range than the SMG (consequently also decreasing the SMG's) 5 points more damage, but a slower fire rate.

I also changed the mag to 40. (Yes, I know AK's usually don't have that size a clip, but it's not like there's a wide variety of assault rifles.....yet.) I'd change the reload speed to be slower to compensate, but while it technically works, it also prevents you from firing for the extra time you add since the animation is still unaltered.

Still, I thought I'd mention the AK's range if per chance the OP is firing outside of its range. (The SMG's)

No, but since you asked just a little grammatically impaired. We get worse though, so we can work around that ;)

Essentially the AK needs to be balanced still, it's just a pretty SMG (with an AK skin) that reloads a touch quicker now. It's one of those " It's alpha" moments is all.

There is nothing to forgive, there is only reasonable expectations. Something everyone is well aware you lack entirely. You really should not be playing Early Access games in Alpha development. Try a new hobby, while taking a day off of being a pessimist with asinine expectations.
