Modifiy block health

Is there any way i can modify the block health for myself (singleplayer or own server)
1000 damage for 1 stone block to break is too much for me.

If you don't find that the few options you have at the ingame startup menu is enough for you, you can go and have a look in the xml files and edit further there.

To touch on what Jesperds said the specific file you'd want, if the in-game options aren't enough for you, is materials.xml

Though you should be able to do this more easily in-game. For the server you could change it in the serverconfig.xml

<property name="BlockDurabilityModifier" value="100" />

I believe lowering this number (percentage in whole numbers) will lower the global health of blocks.
