Chances seem pretty good, since so many people want to play the game in so many different ways.
What do you mean Nexus?

Oh that place. I don't know why it would go there.

Any game that has extreme potential for modding (TES games, Fallout, Starbound) tends to end up there. Since this seems to be one of the highest acclaimed survival zombie game, (and the fact that there are some mods already out there) I wouldn't be surprised if it did l.

Oh cool, finally a place to download all the disturbing nude mods and sex mini games 7d2d was begging for!

People on Steam are more used to Workshop integration... I guess that would also be my preferred mods "depot" :-]

Nexus requires higher expectations and a minimum of "tech-level".
I doubt the majority here is able to install and use nexus mods, the steamshop suits em more.
I'd rather have Workshop support than go to that site. Their ban frequency makes the pre A13 trolling and banning marathon look tame.

For what it's worth, the Nexus Mod Manager is a very simple one click install process.

But for complete, (nearly) bug free compatibility between multiple mods for Bethesda games, you need a combination of NMM and other programs such as Wyre bash and other crazy ♥♥♥♥ to get them all working properly: Steam Workshop did not do this and I never used it because of it. (IMO, it was worth the hassle to learn it.)

However, it also largely depends on the game itself, and I don't see 7days nearly as complicated as the likes of Skyrim or Fallout. I don't see either option (Nexus or Workshop) to be better than the other in this case, other than which one will host more mods.

You are loosing out - steam-workshop is very limited. Neither do you have control over your mods nor will you get the best modes due to limitations of the workshop.

Anyhow i dont see the nexus to be interesting for this game anytime soon - mod integration is meh atm

Hahaha ... only for some of the bigger mods. 80% or more of the mods are just reskins or betterment of default textures, and often not that great at that. But yes, mods that require script extenders and the like are more complex.

I've seen a few 7DtD mods that add new buildings/skins I think so you could have some of that in this game as well - but that would require more than editing text lines in the .xml, which I do agree is outside what most are likely willing/going to do here.

At any rate, I don't really see 7DtD modding being large enough to warrant being on Nexus v. Steam Workshop or just people sharing their files through the official forums or whatnot. Unless the Pimps want to release an actual game/map editor or something.

Bro, do you even?

Wow, five mods. By "a thing" I'm sure the OP meant a lot more than this.

It's there. It exists. Not my fault that mod makers refuse to upload mods there.
