The one is sawed off, that means a good portion of the barrel has been sawed off.
The other is not sawed off, that means a good portion of the barrel has not been sawed off.

(The sawed off has a wider choke so it makes more damage on close range while the long barreled one is more precise.)

Regular shotgun is better. Kills in one hit at close range (assuming headshots) and at medium range, while sawed off shotgun is only good for close range.

The difference is I throw sawed offs in the garbage and kill zeds with the long shotgun.

sawed off seems poinltess to me.

Sawed off is crap even at close range. I melt the parts in the forge.

Also the normal one can use shotgun slugs which is one of the best ammunition in game.

The sawed off is meant to be stronger than the longbarrel, and weaker, than the blunderbuss in A13. I still like the long barrel myself, only one you can load slugs into. That's how I like to deal with ferals in the 7 day hordes. :NewZombie:

Why use a sawed off or blunderbuss? You have to be in melee range for them to be effective at all. If I'm in melee range I'm not wasting gun powder and lead. I'll whip out my spike club or machete (really like the machete).

You are absolutely right but sometimes you don't have a spike club or a machete and just found a blue sawed off...

I don't unless I find a sawed off, or it's schematic before I find another gun. I never bother with a blunderbuss at all. Sooner use a bow myself.

yeah, I made a blunder...buss... once... It was useless, was mostly curiosity. They were supposed to have been boosted a bit, but people generaly are not impressed. For newcommers they may be a good first defence against dogs though. Since you can backpedal and spray and pray at the dogs.

Personally, I agree with all the above. Sawed off becomes practically redundant when you have a long barrel shotgun. I keep it anyway, using all my 2nd best shotgun parts so I can have a backup shotgun to switch to if I don't have time to reload.
