1) Create a new game without deleting your old game.
2) Once loaded into the new game, quit.
3) Open file explorer and type %appdata% into the location bar.
4) Open the 7DaysToDie folder found in %appdata%.
5) Open the Saves/Random Gen folder found within the 7DaysToDie foler.
6) You will see both your old world name and your new world name.
7) Open your old world name first. Inside that folder there should be a player folder.
8) Select the numbered file that DOES NOT end in the .map extention and hit control+C to make a copy of it.
9) Go back to the Saves/Random Gen/ folder and select the folder using your new game's name.
10) Go to the player folder contained within.
11) Hit control+V to paste the file you copied in step 8. If it asks you to overwrite say yes.
12) Load the game and start playing from your new save with your old character. All your chests, buildings, etc. will be gone, but all your levels, skills, recipies, etc. will carry over. You may delete your old game if this loads correctly.

Cheers man but i just found an easier way

Go into the map folder than contains all chunks and simply delete them. You will spawn in the middle of a brand new map with your skills and currently held items.

No problem. Yours is way better though, thanks for sharing that.

So you delete the chunks, then make a new game and that's it? Just want to make sure I have this right before I try it, I'm pretty computer illiterate and don't usually mess with files and stuff. Could you be more specific how it works?

No. What he's saying is that you delete the chunks, and then play the game with the same gamefile.

Remember deleting the chunks will still leave you with an old generated map in the character menu. Time and days will still remain too.

By deleting the .map file in the player folder will clean this old map but the time and days will still remain.

Anyway way to reset the time/day too? Without loosing our skills?

Im confused
Whats the best to do if u want to keep ur character? What is chunks?
1 says delete chunks and u have a brand new map, the other says u still have the old generated map when u delete the chunks - errr what?
If i can i want to keep the old map but without the hight bugs (sudden cliffs), but i guess thats not possible - so i would end up with new map anyway, no?

By old generated map I meant in the map menu, you'll see the old map that you've discovered even if a new world is generated.

So to erase that map in the menu, you'll need to delete the .map file too.

If you keep it, your map will overwrite over the old one and the map will be confusing to read IMO.

I transfer my char from release A13.4 to release the A13.6 . Created a new seed but I'm playing with the same char. My days are back to ZERO, but kept the skills and the loot that was in the backpack.
