Carrying over character stats
Simply put I want to make a new world with the updated random generation but want to keep my player stats from my older alpha 13.1 world.
Is there any way to go about this?

I would like to do this too. It is still in alpha so I dont expect everything to be stay the same, but would still be interested if I could do this.

I did find a progressions.xml file at \7 Days To Die\Data\Config. It has all the skills but i dont know if its per game I dont think it is. Im curious to know how 7d2d loads the progression game specific. I feel like there should be as many progression files as worlds that you have. So with only one file I dont know how it keeps track of every other world.

User/user/appdata/roaming/7d2d/saves then either navmap or random folder/ player folder & then a long string of number. ttp file.

I still don't get what "make the char persistent" means here because every new game or map it resets the skills and recipes learned. Maybe it's just the character look

1) Create a new game without deleting your old game.
2) Once loaded into the new game, quit.
3) Open file explorer and type %appdata% into the location bar.
4) Open the 7DaysToDie folder found in %appdata%.
5) Open the Saves/Random Gen folder found within the 7DaysToDie foler.
6) You will see both your old world name and your new world name.
7) Open your old world name first. Inside that folder there should be a player folder.
8) Select the numbered file that DOES NOT end in the .map extention and hit control+C to make a copy of it.
9) Go back to the Saves/Random Gen/ folder and select the folder using your new game's name.
10) Go to the player folder contained within.
11) Hit control+V to paste the file you copied in step 8. If it asks you to overwrite say yes.
12) Load the game and start playing from your new save with your old character. All your chests, buildings, etc. will be gone, but all your levels, skills, recipies, etc. will carry over. You may delete your old game if this loads correctly.

I tried this and it works, it even lets you bring everything you currently have in your toolbelt and pack, so before you do this load up wisely!!
