Quest limit?!
Strongly against this change
We went from probably the best sandbox survival, freedom was basically the name of the game, to this very lameprogression, linearly polished to the extreme, new fake "random" map generation that doesn't allow certain POIs and tiers in certain biomes anymore, from not-perfect but okay gearing system to straight up level-ZERO of game design itemization
and NOW we get a limit to the quests we are allowed to do?
At this point I'm just fully expecting TFP to remove the 5 quest choices and force us to take the given quest everytime, also remove the possibility to select previous tiers to really finish the job :steambored:

edit: after reconsideration my initial post was very badly worded, gave more time to think about it so I'm editing and completing on my thoughts here
Since the goal is to slow down progression overall, especially for those very "optimized" early game strategies that tend to just spam low level quests and heavily farm books to reach endgame just 10 days in
I myself is more interested in "rushing" in the sense that I find my fun in fighting hordes of zombies, farming high level infested POIs, while I still understand the willingness to slow things down, I would rather much be limited to only getting progression from the highest quest tier available than being limited in number per day
That way it would still be challenging and engaging for people like me, I would also be forced to make decisions, definitely slow down as I wouldn't have a choice to just take some days to farm up, upgrade gear etc, but I'd still have that freedom that made 7 Days (especially the last couple alpha builds imo) really stand out compared to other survivals

With just under 3000 hours in the game, I'll take all the changes I can get without mods.

I loved A16-A18 as much as the next fella (or gal), but change is good. Back before trader quests all you had was looting, mining, or building. And a scooter. That's fine and dandy for sandbox, but at some point it gets a bit dull doing the same thing every day unless you're a builder.

Trader quests fixed that, but eventually you do it long enough and they become the new norm. Doing the same thing every day.
Nobody is forcing you to do these quests. Other than chasing down books as a leveling tier, you still have the same sandbox. But now if you want to hit some spots, it's gonna be a journey.

Isn't that what people want? The 7D2D storyline they've been asking about for years? Can't have a storyline without hoops to jump through. Traders in dangerous country, sending you off to the nastiest POIs.

Have you listened to the "new" credits music? lol

You new to this game or something, OP? Quests didn't always exist, and accepting a dozen of them at a time was never a thing.

Change is always good, when it goes on the right direction, all these changes just feel like the game went back 20 years back in videogame development (I mean general standards, I'm not talking about how the game was in previous version)
Honestly the quest limitation would be fine if there was an actual insentive to do other things in the meantime like farming zombies, cleaning entire towns, but there really isn't, zombie loot always been awful (somehow they managed to make it even worse), clearing low level POIs isn't that useful unless it's specific ones for specific components but pretty much after the second week you're all set, and high level POIs are also useful for a short amount of time: once you get your 10-15 legendary parts in a game there's pretty much no point in completing them anymore cause the loot will always be mediocre compared to what you can craft

The argument that no one is being forced to play a certain way goes both ways, it's the same lame eternal debate, of course no one is forcing people to even start the game either but when you make those changes you gotta take in consideration how it's gonna change the optimal ways to play and reach endgame, face high bloodmoons etc and take in consideration all the players who set goals for themselves, not just log in and roam around with no goal for 10 days before being able to reach tier 3 quests
And the result even for the "fastest" and optimal startegies is now a tedious, extremely controlled and linear progression, where you just run in circles waiting to be able to progress further
That's the opposite of fun, especially in a sandbox game, it really doesn't make any sense to me to make such changes

I'm not talking about taking multiple at a time, I'm talking about completing more than 3 in a day, with this limitation we're talking about 10 days in tier 1 and 2 quests
I'm all for changes and new ways to progress, but this is not opening to new ways to approach the game it's just a massive hand-brake to what was a fun and engaging (sometimes fast-paced for those who felt like rushing) experience

Like it or not, that's exactly what they intended to do. Slow progression.

Thankfully you have access to lots of mods.

And if for some reason you're not playing modded, I, and many other players will highly recommend doing so. Customize the game to the way you want to play. After that it's actually a pretty awesome experience overall.

You can still do a ton of quests in a day. They're encouraging you to also do your own exploration, and build your base. Man, you guys just don't understand this game. Sad to see you badmouth it based on your own lack of understanding, but it is what it is.

From my experience most of the negative comments are from people who aren't using any mods.

It's literally impossible for The Fun Pimps to cater to every individual's likes and dislikes for the game.

MOD it, and problem solved.

Currently we're using 26 mods and it's only getting better with each mod we add.
Some of these mods make the game so much better we wouldn't even bother without them.

Wtf kinda answer is that is that all you gonna add to the conversation?
Of course the intention was to slow down progression it's pretty clear, and while I don't like it, that's exactly why I opened the discussion to get other people opinion and maybe change how I approach the game. Not to get some of those "deal with it" answers else I would have posted on twitter or some ♥♥♥♥

Of course I'm giving my opinion on the base version of the game, there would be no point in opening a discussion on the new update while taking in consideration mods and customized progression that wouldn't make any sense would it?

You realistically expect TFP to perfectly cater the vanilla experience to every player?

I'm not telling anyone how they should play the game, or looking for anyone to tell me how I should play
I'm exclusively discussing the new changes
I'm sad for you if you see honestycriticism and my willingness to debate as "badmouth" maybe you're in the wrong place if all you're looking for is bashing people

That is literally not what I said, is it?
